Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

I really laughed at obysmal's "tough stance", after gutting the military and all; it would have been more convincing if he had threatened to hit Putin with his purse.

Sarah was always and is always right. She makes the little OWEbama look like the fraud that he inherently is.

If only you hadn't run with McCain, Sarah. Run with a TEA candidate, for any office, and you have my vote.

Gotta love the leftists here who drink the swill of their media and can only reply to Palin's comment with derision and insult. We understand that the mental illness called liberalism is indefensible and foolish. All these mental cretins are left with when reality trumps their fantasy is an eruption of denial taking the form of obfuscating insults. One must recognize the entertainment value they add to the dialogue. But one cannot ignore the horrific outcomes from their decisions when these naive dialogues have control. God help us all.

Lots of responses making fun of her, but none challenging her assessment in 2008 ... interesting.

Nothing brings out the angry, brain dead progressives like a former VP candidate that has accurately predicted what a disaster President Obama would actually be.

The saddest part is that Mrs. Palin and a lot of ordinary Americans could see the unintended consequences of Mr. Obama's remarks and our arrogant and elitist foreign policy establishment, some leading politicians and opinion leaders couldn't. We are paying billions for the largest information gathering apparatus the world has ever seen and what is it really accomplishing. It may give comfort to name call Mrs. Palin to some of the commenters, but isn't it about time you at least faced the facts, she was right>

What's her point? That Obama is ineffectual for "allowing" Putin to send troops to Ukraine? He sent troops into Georgia when Bush was in the White House. Do you really think he gives a crap who is sitting in the Oval Office?

Fortunately for us, the working class woman who went to a second rate college does not run the country! Instead we have an Elitist Intellectual Leader, a Saul Alinsky Community Agitator, that "Leads from Behind". Are Ya loving that Hope & Change? So get ready, because we are going to pay for BO's incompetence, hopefully not in blood.

Obama was never qualified to be a Senator, and proves he is not qualified to be the President! His legacy as Senator is a big zero. It is clear that he is trying to make the U.S. a socialist state. He said we should be all in this together. That means all the same level. Obamacare is a government take-over. Insurance companies will start to fold and all that will be left is Obamacare! His plan will work. Then the government will grow to unprecedented levels. People world-wide want to come to America. Watch that slow down when we become as bad as where they are from.

Bad mouthing our President is the easy part. Maybe Palin and the rest can tell us what the USA should do? How about we send troops to fight Russia and do a naval blockade of the Black Sea ports? What say you Sarah? Any ideas, or just the bad mouthing the USA part?

Palin was correct and you can see how this pains the Palin haters. As for little Barry, Dr Jack Wheeler says it best, "The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract, empty rhetoric devoid of real substance. "

How odd that Palin is more of a man than Obama. Too bad we once again have elected a gutless punk to high office.

Palin was right about the death panels of Obamacare. She was right about the Russia/Ukraine situation and some of you libs just can't stand it. Tim, Don, Alex and many of your liberal friends make light if her intelligence while all you can do is make tired false statements about how 'dumb' she is. How about Obama's '57 states' comment, or his breathalyzer comment for asthmatics? But beyond that, it is obvious....Obama has proven to be a rank amateur in foreign policy and worse with Obamacare.

Palin was right about the possible consequence's of Obama's weak foreign policy; Cruz was right about the consequences of Obamacare, and what do the liberals and CNN focus on? Name calling and character assassination. How sad.
