Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

Palin criticizes Obama again, but I don't hear her offer any solutions to this international crisis. What would she do, with her vast experience in such matters, start a war with the Russians over Ukraine?

If the left would actually be open minded to listening to all parties, rather then simply mocking others who don't agree with them, then maybe...just maybe this could have been avoided.

Unfortunately, because the left is so close minded, only one sides ideas are being followed and currently they are wrong. The cost of this ignorance will be huge.

I'm pretty sure Gov. Palin's insight in 2008 were talking points provided by the McCain camp and not deep insight into world affairs by the then governor of Alaska. . .

Odd that even now, poor CNN,MSNBC, the Low Info voters above just cannot admit that Obama is a Quisling and weaker than even Carter as to defending freedom for not only the USA but for our allies. As the libkids would say, Putin is eating Obama's lunch but sadly it is at the cost of Ukraine's liberty and American prestige and trust. Mr. Chamberlain and Obama; two peas in a pod. And we have no Churchill in the wings.

I don't know which is more absurd, Sarah Palin being taken seriously, or Russian troops taking over Crimea.

If Obama thinks his weak speach on TV was suppose to imtimadate Putin, he was only fooling himself. Putin probably thought he was watching a comedy show and unfortunately he was right. Putin would have reason to be concerned if Palin would be calling the shots for our country. Hey, let's put Holder on TV to make threats. At least Putin would know he could do something under the table with Holder that the american people would not be aware of happening.

McCain could have become president if he had not nominated this idiot. Democrats knew it as soon as Palin did an interview. Republicans wished someone could have told them so before the election.

Sarah is still a beautiful woman.

Obama cannot act because he is too busy spying on US citizens. The only think he can possibly do is sic the IRS on Putin but I do not think they will have too much sway.

Well it is now apparent that President Obama doesn't to know where the Ukraine is located; nor does he care. Russian warships to Cuba, Venezuela and Miami (next)!

So easy to sit on the sidelines and heckle. And that's basically what Palin is doing and does all the time. What would you cons have us do? Rush into another conflict – this time one that has the potential to get REALLY dangerous? I am so glad the Texas cowboy is busy cutting brush on his "ranch" right now -

Please, all you progressive, liberal, socialist, reds go to your hero Putin's paradise and visit for a few weeks. See how great it can be in the great Russian Utopia. Then come back to trash the United States. Use your free air miles. I would bet there are some open Olympian eyes now.
All that Ukranians and probably the Russians in Ukraine want as well. is the same thing you despise here.

Palin says I told you so? That's funny. I'd be stunned if she could find it on an unmarked map. To help, blacken out Asia

The leftists targeted, ridiculed and smeared Governor Palin with the willing assistance of the (91% liberal) press. In fact, she destroyed Joe Biden in their VP debate. And, almost every one of her political positions, would have worked far better for the United States, than those of Mr. Obama. But then again, she is an experienced executive, and is pro-American. Neither one of which can be said about Mr. Obama.

She was right, any Democrat have the decency to apologize? Ha ha, yes we know that is the biggest difference between the liberals and the rest of the good decent Americans. Dems don't do decency, they just lie and attack, cant admit mistakes.

Putin knows Obama is too busy waging war on law-abiding taxpayers in the U.S. to get involved in overseas affairs.

Remember when Bush was our president and Putin was kept in his box? Remember what it was like when our adversaries feared us? Remeber when Romney was mocked for raising the issue of the Russian threat? Elections do have consequences CNN so please stop leaning left to promote your agenda. You share the blame for this Ms. Crowley.

Palin always hits the mark, especially on ObamaCare!! She needs to add more credibility by throwing the old goat McCain under the bus. The Establishment Republicans are always wrong.

So what would Sarah have done about this? Invade? Impose Sanctions? Blockade? Denounce the actions in a speech?
