Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

Ukraine will be back under Russian control, she said it in 08 and was practically laughed off the stage. The joke is everything is coming true and the o bama is doing nothing about it and will continue to do nothing about it.

Everything the democrats, under the "leadership" of Obama, do is causing destruction not only in America but everywhere around the world and humanity is facing a very dark future. Palin and others like her were always right, but hey, what difference does it make now? It's too late.

Of course Sarah knew what was going to happen with the Russians. She can see the troop movements from her backyard.

Internationally, Obama is regarded as a no-guts punk. Putin eats his lunch.

Governor Palin, who was also commander of the Alaska National Guard, called out Obama in 2009 when he cut our missile defense program after Russian Bombers made multiple incursions into Alaskan airspace!

President Obama had to reverse himself once again in 2013 after the Russians kept doing it, then the North Koreans shot practice ICBM towards Alaska and Hawaii!

Sarah Palin has been correct in every single prediction and observation she has made over the last 8 years!

LOL ... this 'woman' has thrown so much poop at the wall of course something will 'kind of' stick every 6 years or so. Comical really ... she is a complete joke. A low IQ, uneducated fool who thought she could make it all the way in this world on her 'charm' and 'looks'. And then reality set in.

Shut up Sarah. This is not a TP issue. It is an establishment neocon issue for which we have no use

It is odd how many comments claim Ms. Palin to be lacking in intellect when she is correct on so many issues. Ms. Palin's intellectual capacity is probably on a par with President Obama's. The difference is that she wants the US to be strong, free and prosperous, whereas the administration wants the US to be a weak, docile and mediocre member of a socialist "community of nations". She would like to see real justice, whereas the administration wants a facsimile of "social justice".

Once again Sarah has proven correct–only the liberal media refuse to acknowledge it. For those of you making fun of her "supposed stupidity" you might want to actually research some current events instead of soaking up the Kool-Aid this administration and their media are feeding you. You might be quite surprised - as well as embarrassed. If Sarah had been in we would never have had this problem-she is so much more qualified to lead this country than the current POTUS.

Watch Vladimir. Obama has only BEGUN to talk.

You think he's been tough so far? Just wait.

Even now, strong and harsh language is being typed into the President's teleprompters. Strong words to be be delivered with INCREDIBLE strength and articulation by a well-dressed man.

He's focused LIKE A LASER on your tiny KGB behind. Listen and tremble.

As soon as the name Palin is in a story, the pre-written snipes are always the first to appear. The DNC machine in full swing sliming all it fears. Have you noticed there are attacks on almost every potential republican candidate? This is war. The dems never discuss issues. They personally attack all that they disagree with. What a worthless bunch. They all contribute the same thing to this nation. Nothing!

Is she saying we should have been tough with Putin ahead of schedule?

Palin was right, of course. She will not get any credit from anyone on the Left ... no way. What is much more important right now on the world stage, is that Mr. Potato Head Obama is putting on his "Angry Eyes" at Russia as I write this! And we only THOUGHT Syria was in trouble for crossing the line!

If McCain had won in 2008 we would be in a mess right now. I like the man – and i am a republican – but he is a hot head. Obama messed up forcing his liberal agenda down the nations throat. I really think he thought he was right and everyone who doubted him was wrong. I think now he knows he was lied to but he can't admit it now... At least with McCain as President Putin would think twice before invading – with Obama he thinks nothing will happen. And he is right – so Ukraine go ahead and divide to make Russia happy and limit the coming bloodshed.

A little fact checking for our usual Right Wing friends .

    1) The Ukraine is NOT being invaded by Russia .. So please stop saying that Sarah Palin has a point with her "I told you so" ....
    2) Sarah Palin in an infamous interview on June 8th,2008 thought Africa was a country , not a CONTINENT .... So I doubt very much she even knows where the Ukraine is .
    3) Putin is NOT invading anything .... Hallucinating that he is only makes you Right Wingers sound even crazier than you already are .

Romney is looking a little better too. He was scolded for saying Russia was our top geopolitical threat.

People ridicule Palin because she doesn't talk like a phony East coast elitist, but she ran the corrupt Ol' Boys out of Alaska, which is the real reason Democrats fear Palin. She can't be bought by big money. She also lives right next door to Russia and has many ex-soviets living in her neighborhood. She knows more about that part of the world than a community organizer from Chicago, but then again, nobody ever went broke under-estimating the perception of the Democrat dominated media.

Noted foreign policy expert, the half-term Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. Can she see the Ukraine from her home in Wasila? Obviously another 15 minutes has passed so she has to say something to get media attention. Just go away Sarah.
