Longtime Obama aide to leave White House

(CNN) - President Barack Obama’s deputy chief of staff will leave the White House later this year to pursue a career in the private sector.

Alyssa Mastromonaco previously served as director of presidential scheduling and advance at the White House and served in the same capacity during Obama’s first presidential campaign.

Mastromonaco started working with Obama in early 2005 as the then-senator’s scheduler.

Originally from New York, Mastromonaco got her start in national politics with Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004.

The worst presidency in history? You must have had an alcoholic blackout for 8 years. By all means, keep drinking.

The Obama presidency is just fine. At least the stock market is rebounding and jobs are reappearing in America. I swear, if President Obama found the cure for cancer, baldness and impotency all in the same afternoon, the GOP would still refuse to admit that he is a good president. Let it go people. Don't worry. I am sure you'll all vote in some bozo to screw everything up again. I guess as long as it isn't President Obama, that will be okay with you people.

Blue jeans in the Oval office in the presence of the President.... how disrespectful to both the Office of the Presidency and to the President. I would have fired her before she could resign.
