TENSION MOUNTS OVER EAST UKRAINE … Secretary of State John Kerry told Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday that the U.S. has been watching “with great concern” events unfolding in eastern Ukraine over the last 48 hours. Pro-Russian protesters have seized state buildings in several east Ukrainian cities, prompting accusations from Kiev that Moscow is now trying to "dismember" the country. Kerry told Lavrov the protests don’t appear "spontaneous” and warned that further Russian action in Ukraine would incur "greater costs," according to spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

Democrats blast Hayden's 'emotional' comment about Feinstein

(CNN) – Senate Democrats on Monday blasted former CIA Director Michael Hayden for charging that Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein was motivated by “deep emotional feeling” when she approved a report critical of the CIA’s harsh treatment of detainees after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“Gen. Hayden condescendingly accused Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein of being too emotional,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said in a floor speech. “She has been fearless. She has been thorough and fair. And for this man to say that because she criticizes tactics led by Gen. Hayden - that was torture - she is being too emotional? I don’t think so.”

And Cochran's team is hitting back with an ad of their own, slamming GOP challenger Chris McDaniel for his views on government assistance programs and post-Hurricane Katrina disaster relief in the state. And Cochran is also getting assistance from an outside group as the ad wars in the Mississippi GOP Senate primary heat up.
