Biden on sleeping with a college professor

(CNN) - There he goes again.

Vice President Joe Biden delivered another whimsical moment Monday–the kind that borders a fine line between cheeky yet charming.

Speaking at the 94th annual convention of the American Association of Community Colleges in Washington, Biden thanked attendees for their work–something he knows a little bit about, given that his wife, Jill Biden, is a community college professor.

He profusely praised the educators and argued they're "the best kept secret in America."

"Jill is probably right," he added. "I think I'd have the same attitude...did I not sleep with a community college professor every night."

As the audience laughed, Biden interjected.

"Oh, the same one, the same one," he said, waving his hands in an attempt to clarify. "The same one."

Earlier at the event, while introducing the vice president, Jill Biden told the audience that her husband "knows the value of a community college education–and not just because he's married to a community college teacher."

In his speech, Biden announced the launch of the Registered Apprenticeship College Consortium, a group of community colleges, businesses, labor unions and industry organizations that will work together to help apprentices earn college credit for their training.

The initiative is part of the administration's ongoing effort to boost job training.

In other news, the vice president on Monday began tweeting again under the handle @JoeBiden after the account was inactive for more than a year. He indicated he plans to use the account for the 2014 midterms. (His office–including the vice president himself–already tweets from the handle @VP.)

Wow! Equality. What a modern, enlightened, progressive, democratic, liberal idea. The Republicans will never go for it. The lunatic fringe will cling to their ideal of white, male superiority as tightly as they cling to their guns and the right of the rich to not be taxed at the same rate as working people. Still, if enough voters rejected their ideology at the polls, the idea of equality might get a foothold in this country. So women and minorities shouldn't give up hope. Stranger things have happened.

Wow.. Any one who likes Biden should be reminded that he is a more loose lipped Bush. Both are terrible for the country. Likeable, maybe. But likeable doesn't make them good for the country. Carter was a good guy. Terrible president, but good guy. Truman was truly hated, but a good president. Difference being that he was hated across party lines. When one party hates, its just small minded disagreements that allow the sitting president to get away with murder with his own party. When everyone hates you, you're probably doing something right.

Somehow "buffoon" does not match the level of charges we see against Obama from both sides. Biden has been through so much his character is rock solid. He's not as political as O and Hillarity. Character is something the Clintons don't have to offer; not a strong point at all. Don't people kind of miss the concept of strong character in a presidential match-up? Call him "Uncle Joe," all you like, he is respected and loved by both sides.

rla – You gullible people still think there are WMDs in Iraq, trickle down works for all Americans, Obama is responsible for Katrina, there was no record job loss in 2008, you still believe in death panels and death spirals, you think Mittens killed bin Laden, the Great Recession of 2008 was Clinton's fault, and the entire national debt is because of Obama. I cannot believe a single thing you republicans say.

Sleeping with the professors is probably the ONLY way this buffoon got through college and law school. Do yourself a favor, go look up the facts of his class standings. Unlike his boss, Biden doesn't hide his background, but he's probably the one that should have, since he generally sat back behind 80-90 percent of his class, as far as the standings went. A real American success story, for sure!

  13. God MAY NOT be a Liberal, but He IS a Democrat

With both Hillary and Joe, the Democrats have TWO candidates with the mental gravitas to sit in the oval office. Looking at the defacto Republicans [Christie, Jindal, Walker, Paul, Rubio, Cruz, Huckabee, Perry] if the Democrats come up with a NEXT GENERATION VEEP candidate that can excite the masses, they should be a shoe-in in 2016. But they cant be cavalier about the age of Hillary or Biden. Convince America that they have a continuity/ sucession plan for 2020 and they can win.

Republicans think they are good at "negoating" but every one backs down and apologizes to Rush Limbaugh.

In other news, we now know Obama supporter, The Reverend Al Sharpton was a mob snitch against the Genovese Crime Family in the 1980's. If I were to play the drinking game every time CNN and other mainstream media outlets will report on this, I'll remain sober!

Perhaps he will become an adjunct professor at his wife's CC. He can teach a class in how to fire a shotgun through the front door if you are frightened. Extra credit question on his final exam. What's the best way to get a paraplegic to rise from his chair to get applause from the audience?

Community college professor? The way Dementia Joe and the news media incessantly refer to her as "Doctor Jill Biden," you'd think she was a neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins.

So many choices for democrats to slap republicans around in 2016. Whoever is chosen by the democrats, he or she will beat the republicans like a rented mule again, much like 2008 and 2012.

I was going to award this the new conspiracy theory of the day. But I realized that I cannot see how this old story (c.2000?) relates at all to the article or even what the point is. Is this really an example of the detailed criticism that the Radical Right can muster against – I don't even know what this is against actually. I say go back to Birth Certificate.
