'Pals': Biden, Obama make selfie time

(CNN) – Let the selfies continue.

Vice President Joe Biden posted his first selfie late Wednesday, hours after launching his Instagram account.

And who better to star in your first smartphone self-portrait than the President of the United States?

"Found a friend to join my first selfie on Instagram. Thanks for following and stay tuned," he wrote on Instagram.

The smiling duo appear to be sitting in a presidential limo.

The White House Twitter account also posted the photo with a simple caption: "Pals."

If Biden, Clinton run in 2016, who will Obama pick?

Republican Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey welcomed the vice president Thursday morning with his own photo of Biden–a "Throw Back Thursday" photo, to be more precise.

"#tbts always trump #selfies. Welcome to Instagram @VP! #tbt @udbluehens," the caption read on Instagram.

Christie's office said the photo is likely from the fall of 1996. The Christies were tailgating at a University of Delaware football game when then-Sen. Biden of Delaware walked up. Both were graduates of the school. At the time, Christie was a county freeholder, and in the photo he's holding his daughter Sarah.

CNN's Steve Brusk and Ashley Killough contributed to this report.

I find the USA's leadership loses whatever credibility when they post images like this, they come across as a pair of high school jokesters, and their smiles seem so forced and fake. Kind of ridiculous, really.

You people searching for "credible" claims as to why Obama is Nixonesque have such a truly ignorant display of hypocrisy, it's beyond comical.

He has without question seized more power than ever meant or defined for a president, and does so knowingly and brazenly. He knows the courts will take years to catch up with him, so he violates the Constitution almost daily now.

Immigration policy, legislative meddling, appointments... all unconstitutional. All perfect examples. Even without the scandals of Benghazi and the IRS... the aforementioned are there, are undeniable, and are more than impeachable.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In other words, you’ve got nothing. Thanks for the clarification!

Why is it a smile from the VP and POTUS is losing credibility but the GOP can go on every news show in the USA and trash the POTUS, but that's ok???

The only reason we are losing any credibility is because anyone with half a brain knows, a boys divided can not stand.

The Right just hates the President and America. It needs to grow up and move on.

1.The ACA hasn`t gone fully into effect yet and there are no concrete numbers on the ACA(except 7 million signed up).
2."Violent armed extremist", there has been no violence at the Bundy ranch(unless you count the prego lady the agents knocked to the ground).
3.Ukraine is a mess with more violence everyday and Putin has flipped the bird at Obama.

Are you kidding? These two were having a seriously real and hearty laugh about how insane they knew the selfie they were taking would drive the Teatrolls. They were probably passing the time during the ride in the POTUSmobile by trying to guess what bizarre and unhinged statements you guys would make.

Sounds like you should move to Russia, or some country where leaders are more interested in instiling fear in the citzenry than dispensing justice, living by democratic priniciples and being human beings.
Here in the United States of America we have been TIMELY blessed with our current President and Vice President.
Real men who were not afraid of the really hard work and effort that it took to put our country back to rights.
Real men who by example have shown us that you can successfully balance the hard work that it takes to run a country, be a father and a husband and still make the time for true friendships.
Shame on you and your petty heart for hating where there is no room for hate.

    -----------–
Not just like. The difference is Bloomberg is clear and public about what he is funding. Less guns, small sodas – agree or disagree, he is clear and public. Good for him. BTW – I disagree about the sodas.

Kochs' hide behind made up "grass roots" groups spread around doing things like sabotaging the ACA and putting out of context videos to embarrass politicians. When is the last time they told people they were doing that? Unclear and hidden and shady.

Both have good reason to laugh and smile. These are great times to be an American, and President Obama has proven to be one of the all time greats. Record stock market, killed America's #1 enemy, health care for 50 MILLION of our brother and sister citizens, record 401K.

Best of all: President Obama is the 1st in about 30 years to NOT start a war!

You rock, Mr. President! I am proud to be an American!

I'm sure if you are unemployed in America, you got a real rise out of seeing this photo. I'm sure that Joe and Pres were out looking for some shovel ready jobs, or maybe the Choom wagon rides again!. Either way, it seems like clown time is not over....

Why wouldn't they do this? It's genius. The young are the future and the young vote. They relate a lot more to this than they do to some 90 year old actor talking to an empty chair or a has been "rocker" spouting absurdities.

If Hillary and Plugs both run for the nomination, will Obama endorse his "pal"?

No. In fact, he will not endorse anyone of them until someone is nominated. Kingmakers are for conservatives.

You are avoiding the question I asked.
Bloomberg is public about his opposition to illegal guns and big sodas. All over the news.
When did the Kochs' announce their majority funding of "grass-roots" groups and the "campus beer cozy" ACA sabotage campaign? This was covered in Oct-Nov 2013 news, but not announced by the Kochs. Can yoiu reference the announcement. (not the expose')

The fact is that the usual suspects on this thread continue to prove how factually challenged they are and that they reside inside a malodorous bubble.
This President and Vice President are the first to come into power in the age of social media.
If Instagram, Twitter et al had been around, and had he been smart, Bush would've been doing the same thing.

Come on now smith, I've seen a half dozen ads in my state by gop superpacs, literally not one of them has their candidate talking about their accomplishments, not one, all are trashing the Democrat. I'm thinking, and hoping it takes more than a negative ad against one? person to vote for another, SMH.
