New York (CNNMoney) - There are a lot of differences between Queens, Topeka and Seattle.
One that stands out: People making the same money in each of those places can face very different tax bills.
Very interesting analysis. A relief to read something like this, as most politicians seem to think earning 100K in New York is the same as earning 100K in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Then again, most politicians don't care how many stupid things they say, or whether the upper middle class in big cities is blindly overtaxed versus other constituents. Most politicians only care about the opinions of super-rich lobbyists, and that's it.
Not to mention that people without kids, face very different tax bills, than people with kids. The government is subsidizing everyone with kids.......plain and simple, and abusing everyone without kids.
Nothing sure but death and taxes. Especially if you can get it from somebody else.
This article is more than a little miss leading. Washington State doesn’t have a state income tax this is true; but to make up the difference they have an average around 10% sales tax. So you’re really comparing apples and oranges if you don’t take the sales tax into consideration.
