Inside Politics: The age question

Washington (CNN) – Forget, for now, the traditional debates over taxes and spending or national security.

The flashpoint in presidential politics, at the moment anyway, seems to be more about age.

Or experience. Or maturity. Or something like that.

  1. Two Decades of Democrat Disaster - NO THANKS!!

hillary clinton's age is the least of her problems. her total lack of accomplishments and her incompetence at the state dept. that got 4 americans killed are far more important. after 8 years of obama's incompetence the country cannot afford even a second more of it. are we asking for two decades of democrat disaster? has the entire country lost their mind??!!

Going through the list of who was what age in GOPerville at the time of their presidential bids, Hillary's age should be considered a non-factor.

But no doubt it will be hashed out on the right until she either becomes President of the United States or not. Whichever happens first.

Bob Dole. John McCain. Ronald Reagan. Weren't exactly spring chickens themselves.

    Yeah. I know. I know.

There should be an age limit based on comments made by Hillary Clinton; Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi; they seem to be senile dementia at best; maybe it’s time for psychiatric evaluation.

There should be term limits in the House and Senate.

Ageism is the tolerated discrimination in this country. Since the communist party USA sued the DNC for stealing their platform and relabeling it "progressive", there are bigger worries regarding the election of democrats to any office. My only question is why did they wait til January to do it?

HRC looks best in hues of red. The deeper the better.
    Just an observation.
That shade of peacock blue does nothing for her IMO.

For those accusing CNN of being a liberal conduit, you just witnessed an article promoting the Rush Limbaugh lie about Hillary being "sick" and "old" even though no true and many men have run at a more advanced age. End of Proof.

No........the issue is about how old someone will be, by the time they reach term limits. That HAS TO BE a consideration, for the physical ability to do the job.

Let's face it.........Hillary traveled so much as SOS, that she became exhausted. (Not saying she accomplished anything, of course.)

If that job exhausted her, in a single term, why would anyone think she could handle the pressures of the Presidency, until she is 77??????

    The indicator is........she cannot.

Senile? What does term limits have to do with it?
The entire Republican congressional caucus is still trying to make Barack Obama a one-term president.

Obama had no experience...which translated into the worst U.S. presidency in history. In addition, his arrogance has made him the worst U.S. president in history. Hillary is merely incompetent, which doesn't bode well for the Democrat party.

Rush Limbaugh myth – done and debunked back in early 2014. Originally taken from the National Enquirer rag.
But thanks for trying to keep the conspiracy theory alive.

Oh. I see that CNN is already jockeying us into position by not posting my comment.

What, pray tell, is wrong in pointing out that Hillary is younger than Reagan was when he first ran.
And that there is no none family history of dementia/Alzheimer's.
Women do live longer than men.
And yes, if the GOP continues to pursue this vein of thought they will only succeed in alienating yet ANOTHER segment of the voting population that I will add, they can ill afford to also lose.
Post or not, it is still the truth.

    @Dean

"Obama had no experience...which translated into the worst U.S. presidency in history. In addition, his arrogance has made him the worst U.S. president in history".

A prime example of one of those republicant mantra's... the worst U.S. president in history...the worst U.S. president in history...the worst U.S. president in history.. like if they say it enough it will become true.
Obama would have to accidentally nuke three blue American states on consecutive days to become 1/2 as bad as his predecessor.
I've said it before and I will say it again... Obama will be raising money for the next Democratic Presidental candidate, as will President Clinton and Joe Biden (if he isn't running) along with a whole host Dems. Who will be raising money for the republicants?
I'll tell you who it won't be... bush, cheney, rummy, and that whole crowd....
So, please... proceed with your ignorant mantra, but remember... it will never be true...it will never be true...it will never be true...

Not that something being true was ever a prerequisite for this crowd to spew out their cake holes....

Dean – Pretty stupid to call Obama the worst president ever when he Ihas spent a great deal of his first term fixing the screw ups of the Bush/republican error. That horse you are riding was dead a few years ago. Hannity lies.

Condi travelled more than most SOS, spreading democracy in the Middle East, giving Hamas control of most of the region. Her list of accomplishments is non existent. Ghaddafi liked her though.

Right, Dean, and what does the GOP have to offer in his place? Paul? Cruz? Rubio? Jindall? The most experienced person in the GOP field is Rick Perry, and we saw how his campaign flamed out. Jeb Bush was a 2-term governor with no DC experience at all, and he won't survive a primary season. Its also interesting that what you see as arrogance is usually described as leadership. The man who has finally said that pre-existing conditions were not a reason to be denied health insurance is NOT the worst US president, that honor would go to either Franklin Pierce, James Buchannon or W. Strange how the GOP was singing Hillary's praises prior to Benghazi, and now they want to tar her as being incompetant? Talk about being a group of ambulance-chasing slime, who took the deaths of 4 Americans as a blessing and a line of attack on someone they know they can't otherwise beat.

Pure BS. You most certainly DID see it and it was being BY THE DEMOCRATS!! Now that the Democrats only have dinosaurs as candidates, suddenly dinosaurs are supposed to be good when 8 years ago it was bad. Come on, the country is on to your lying ways.
