Obama responds to racist comments attributed to Clippers' Don Sterling

(CNN) - The racism controversy embroiling Don Sterling, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, has reached half way around the world to Malaysia, where President Obama is on a diplomatic mission to Asia Pacific nations.

At a press conference with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak Sunday, Obama was asked about racist comments Sterling allegedly made about African-Americans.

    @Chris-E and @anonymous
    The first black President, and one whose had to deal with obstruction filled with racial undertones speaks on a pro sports owner billionaire about the racist remarks he made and you consider this "issues he only does harm" or needs to "keep his mouth shut"? Coming on the heels of the Nevada rancher who also let us know how he felt about "n3gro3s"... I don't find it surprising one bit that racism is still a driving force in many circles... (Rightwing and TeaParty front and center)

    How old is this guy? And how young is the lady beside him? Too each his own but, does cradle robbing have any meaning here? That said, however, I am certain she enjoys his money, even if he has little else to offer.

    My comment was about the president having the right to make comment. Of course he does, and absolutely any American would condemn Sterlings comments. I suggest you read things a weeeeee bit closer before you jump. You just show lack of...................

    What strikes me about Sterling is that he seems mostly concerned about how things appear in the media. I think it's true that if all the players on both sides of a basketball game are black, then whites are less likely to watch. Maybe that's what Sterling was thinking about, and maybe that's how he became a billionaire. At least I think this ought to be a part of the discussion.

    If one believes what someone says no matter what the subject; If you know it not be true stop complaining and stop living in the past. RASCIISM is in all of us and will never change until we die that's just a fact.

    The president was asked a question and he answered. How does make him a racist? Conservatives defend the Duck Dynasty guy as a champion of first amendment rights however condemn Obama for giving his opinion? No wonder republicans have a hard time wooing voters that aren't at war with the federal government or minorities.

    Everybody seems to be a racist these days or perhaps always have been. The point this guy was "trying" to make is he doesn't appreciate his "wife" running around with afro americans. Put two and two together. Would you? What else does her motive entail??! Or theirs???. Anyways. I don't see color I see intentions. And are these intentions on the up and up or does she just like hanging out with other men, preferably black? Divorce. He has a prenupt intact so then so be it. We live in a time of Chaldeans and loss of love. Attacking your spirituality keeps you from being at peace. Worrying about nonsense everybody else and not yourselves. Cattle drive. Slaughter to the herd.
