Palin: ‘Waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists’

(CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told a capacity crowd at a National Rifle Association rally how she would baptize terrorists if she was an elected official.

“If I was in charge,” Palin said Saturday in Indianapolis, “they would know, waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”

Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who ran against then Sen.-Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election, with Palin as his running mate, has spoken out against waterboarding, calling it illegal and ineffective. During the Vietnam War, McCain endured years of torture and imprisonment as a prisoner of war under the North Vietnamese.

In her speech, Palin also said the Washington insiders who called the 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood a case of workplace violence “don’t know what is right.” That shooting was carried out by Maj. Nidal Hassan.

“Not when that evil Muslim terrorist Major Hassan massacres his fellow military soldiers at Fort Hood,” she said.

Characterizing Hassan, “that devil” as a ‘disgruntled employee,’” is hypocritical, said Palin.

Palin called liberals hypocrites for their stance on issues varying from gun control to torture at the NRA event that was part of the organization’s 2014 convention.

But she backtracked later, saying, “Not all intolerant anti-freedom leftist liberals are hypocrites.”

“I’m kidding,” she said. “Yes, they are.”

Palin told the crowd that “guys like” Sen. Al Franken and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid “are not satisfied with just taking your money and your job and your truck and your property and your rights and your healthcare. Those Democrats trying to get all ‘Pelosi’ on ya, and you’re not gonna have it!” she said, referring to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Palin accused the Democrats of pursuing “policies that poke our allies in the eye and coddle adversaries instead of putting the fear of God in our enemies.”

She ended her speech by telling the crowd that the bracelet she wears celebrates the Bill of Rights, ratified in 1791.

“It’s why we’re here, to celebrate and confirm that solemn oath to liberty,” she said.

Devon – You DO know that, per the CIA's own admission (after they were forced to stop lying about it) not all people arrested as being suspected of terrorism were actually terrorists, right?
Which means that, to grab 1 (one) terrorist at least another person (innocent of any criminal wrongdoing) was arrested and subjected to the same treatment that YOU approve.
Are you still OK with that?:

My mom always told me that I should keep my mouth shut if I didn't have anything intelligent to say. If Palin took that advice to heart, we'd never hear a word from her.

But it is great to know that every few months this idiot will pop up and remind every intelligent American that her and her kind are the best reasons to vote for the Democratic ticket.

it just kills me that she calls people hypocrites throughout the article, and then says in the last two lines:

She ended her speech by telling the crowd that the bracelet she wears celebrates the Bill of Rights, ratified in 1791.
“It’s why we’re here, to celebrate and confirm that solemn oath to liberty,” she said.

isn't what she is calling to do to other human beings completely stomping on the bill of rights? THAT is the definition of hypocrisy

Just curious about the DNC stance on terroroism because the current close your eyes, cross your arms and blink strategy simply isn't working.

It's funny who liberals got their panties in a wad over waterboarding. Are there any dead terrorists, because of waterboarding? How come liberals never mention Nick Berg or Daniel Perl? We have terrorists who behead people and they die, we have our CIA waterboards to get information and they live. There are times when it's difficult to come to grips with the liberal mind. I'm sure they'll believe in waterboarding again if a terrorist gets into the country, with a nuke, and we need information to find out where it is from someone we know has it. If they don't, time to get someone else in charge. Sarah, are you available.

What's scary is that a mere six years ago, this woman was hand-picked by the Republican Party to be second in line to the presidency. In terms of foreign policy, she makes George Patton look like a pacifist, and in terms of open-mindedness, she makes Mitt Romney look like Mother Teresa.

Folks, had it not been for ten million votes and the fact that John McCain lived longer than some of us thought he might, this woman could actually be our president. And some of the greatest political minds in our nation did their best to put her there. There just isn't a word to describe how scary that is.

Sarah Palin wears a bracelet that celebrates the Bill of Rights from 1791. Gee, under the Bill of Rights, she wouldn't even be allow to vote.. Took another 130 years before women could vote.

    Keep celebrating Sarah

Maybe she should volunteer to test out water boarding, after all it is just 'baptism', I wonder what her reaction would be. We are supposed to be a civilized country. Yet she wants us to stoop to the level of the terrorist who go by no laws or rules. Go home woman, hunt some endangered species, pollute some water, do what makes you happy, and leave the rest of the country out of your nonsense.

"isn't what she is calling to do to other human beings completely stomping on the bill of rights? THAT is the definition of hypocrisy"

You have to understand: the bill of rights was supposed to codify basic human rights to protect us from government overreach. People like Jabberwocky Barbie quite literally don't consider Muslims to be human.

Ken, "Just curious about the DNC stance on terroroism because the current close your eyes, cross your arms and blink strategy simply isn't working."

I would say the current stance is to use drones and intelligence to find them before they find us. Has there been a significant uptake in foreign terrorism since Obama took office? No. In fact, the only terrorists which have struck have been US citizens...who are protected from things like water boarding by that very bill of rights Sarah Palin holds so dear.

Ultimately, you have to ask yourself, what creates terrorism and attack that. Water boarding will never solve the underlying issue...its not even a good method of getting information which has been proven. We need to be a country that has higher moral standing then terrorist, better values not just in rhetoric, but in action. People will always hate us, but more hate won't solve a thing.

Ms. Palin should receive the Democratic Party's distinguished service award, for her tireless and productive work in getting Democrats elected. She has done almost as fine a job as the Tea Party.

And, when she was running for Vice President of the United States of America – she couldn't answer the most basic questions about our government. She did not know how many congressmen and senators there are in the U.S. If only there was a third-grader around to teach her something other than hate.
