Romney calls for NH police commissioner to apologize, resign for Obama slur

(CNN) - Mitt Romney is calling on a police commissioner to apologize and resign after using the N-word to describe President Obama

"The vile epithet used and confirmed by the commissioner has no place in our community: He should apologize and resign,” Romney said Sunday in a statement provided to CNN.

Robert Copeland, 82, is the police commissioner in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire - where Romney owns a home and spends a lot of time.

On Thursday evening Copeland refused to apologize at a town meeting for using the term.

The Boston Herald first reported Romney's statement.

Mr. Romney, where were you all this time when your party has been using the Presidents name and standing as a football, as a shoe?

    Romney's right on this none.
That small minded, ignorant little man has no business being in a position of public responsibility. He's really screwed up.

Why do people say "N Word?" We're not so stupid as to not know what it means, and it's silly. As soon as I read it, and I'm certain I'm not alone, I immediately think of the actual word. Why not just come out and say what was said, instead of acting like it's hidden behind some code? Blacks call each other n igger; I never hear them call each other "you n-word."

A Massachusetts liberal who had lived in the town for four months managed to not mind her own business, and has ruined the town, now.

Figures that Romney, another Massachusetts liberals, would butt in.

What an ignorant racist old man. As a police commissioner there is no way he can be unbiased towards blacks while performing his duties since he has such racist views. He should immediately be removed from office. That man is such an obvious racist there is no way a black person charged with any crimes in that police jurisdiction could have possibly gotten a fair shake. Every black person who was ever convicted of a crime in that police jurisdiction should have their case reviewed. It's quite apparent racism is rampant in that police jurisdiction if the top cop is such a blatant racist. It's very likely evidence was planted, testimony was false, confessions coerced etc. in cases against blacks.

Every, man woman and child has a right to say what they think-although in today's social environment it is generally wiser to think about what you intend to express and how you intend to express it before doing it. As is often said even a fish would not get into trouble if he kept his mouth shut.

The n word is disrespectful, but where is the line drawn between free speech and political correctness? It seems like there should be a standard punishment for racial slurs. We have seen those with money crucified but what if some average person says something racially charged? I'm not saying it's right but I am saying it's unfair.
