Romney rips Obama, Clinton on foreign policy

(CNN) – Mitt Romney blasted President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over foreign policy Thursday, saying their leadership during Obama’s first term helped weaken America’s standing in the world.

The 2012 GOP presidential nominee went after Clinton in particular for arguing that the five Taliban detainees released last month in exchange for captive Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl aren’t a threat to the United States.

Physical exam shows Obama in 'excellent' health

(CNN) - President Barack Obama is in tip-top shape, according to a physical exam released Thursday by the White House.

Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, director of the White House's medical unit, described Obama's overall health as "excellent."

Clinton defends change in same-sex marriage position

Washington (CNN) – During a testy interview with NPR on Thursday, Hillary Clinton stood behind her role as secretary of state and her upbringing as a way to defend the fact that she was not publicly supportive of same-sex marriage until 2013.

NPR's Terry Gross pressed Clinton about her decision to come out in favor of marriage equality, leading the former secretary of state to give some of her fullest comments on the subject since she announced her support just weeks after she left the State Department in 2013.

Hillary Clinton: Cantor's defeat will affect 2016

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton argued Thursday that the ripple effect of Eric Cantor's crushing primary defeat will extend to 2016.

"I think it shows the continuing conflict within the Republican Party over its direction," said the potential presidential candidate. "That will be a challenge. It may not affect necessarily the outcome of the elections in November–we'll see–but it will certainly have long-term implications for 2016 and maybe beyond."

(CNN) - After pulling off the biggest upset victory of the primary season, Republican congressional nominee Dave Brat says he's still processing it all.

"I need a few days to decompress after that election," Brat exclusively told CNN on Thursday, two days after the tea party-backed economics professor toppled House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the GOP primary in Virginia's 7th Congressional District.

CNN/ORC Poll: Bush 43 now on par with Obama

Washington (CNN) – My, how the times have changed.

In January 2009, as President George W. Bush was days away from leaving the White House, the unpopular President's favorable rating stood at 35% in a CNN/ORC International survey. The man who was succeeding him, Barack Obama, was fresh from his historic 2008 presidential election victory and had a 78% favorable rating among Americans.

(CNN) - A comparison between alcoholism and homosexuality by Texas Gov. Rick Perry is raising eyebrows.

At a speech in San Francisco, the longtime Republican governor - who ran for the White House in 2012 and is considering another bid in 2016 - was asked whether he thought homosexuality was a disorder.

Programming note: CNN will air "41ON41," a film about President George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, based on interviews with 41 people who know him best, Sunday at 9 and 11 p.m. ET

(CNN) - Former President George H.W. Bush Thursday celebrated his 90th birthday by skydiving near his summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

After what appeared to be a hard landing, Bush spokesman Jim McGrath told CNN that after the morning jump, the former president "is doing great."
