I believe Romney when he says he isn't running for President again. And I can see a lot of you want to elect another "Loser". However "Peasants" don't count your Chickens before they hatch! As anything can happen Romney could be swept up in a draft. And, like it or not he was the much better candidate! but you know that, don't you. Get ready for some abrupt changes, you may not like!

Romney's five sons could be swept up in a draft and sent to Iraq ?

I don't think so , they are to privileged for such a job .

The reality is that the Mideast is nothing but a boiling cauldron of sectarian unrest. Lines were drawn on maps a hundred years ago to create "countries" like Syria and Iraq with absolutely no regard to the tribal affiliations of the people who live there. We should not be surprised that this part of the world is composed of so many little powder kegs that are likely to explode at any time. You cannot control this chaos...the best you can hope for is to manage it. Richard Nixon was right about the Mideast when he said that those people are all lunatics who are still mad about events that occurred a thousand years ago. You can't reason with people who are still living in the Middle Ages, they are infected with a disease called Islam. We should redouble our efforts to develop our own energy sources and alternatives so the civilized world is no longer held hostage to Middle Eastern unrest.

This just shows that those that planned on attacking Iraq didn't have a clue. There is too much history that showed that invading the country no matter how bad Saddam was foolish idea. I think that Saddam was an evil man, but he held many of the people we didn't like in check because he didn't like them either (or they didn't like him).

@chris-e, living in that airless right wing bubble. So sad.
The fact that you are comparing what is going on in Iraq at present with illegals, but only the ones from the south makes you completely insignificant on the subject.
Just listened to our President's speech on Iraq. No troops to Iraq but the teaklans are very upset about it, it seems.
It wasn't bad enough that the village idiot started a war of lies but now the teaklans are saying we pulled our troops too soon? Our troops should have NEVER gone into Iraq. Still shudder to think that the heartless cheney thought we would be welcome as liberators and the WH fool thought the mission accomplished flag was the end of what was the start of a war. Daddy proud much?

"Yes we are being invaded here at home on our southern border and 0bama is interested in the ancient nation of Iraq ?"

Ancient? LOL. More evidence you haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about. Iraq was cobbled together by arrogant Europeans on maps drawn in London and Paris, which is why it has such disparate ethnic and religious factions all clumped together and incapable to living peacefully with one another unless ruled by a brutal dictator. Sure, the cultures and ethnicities and religious beliefs, etc., of those disparate peoples are themselves "ancient," but to call Iraq in its current form "ancient" is silly-talk. Go do your homework and learn about the Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916 if you want to start to understand why none of this was EVER going to work.

Why should he do anything? The Iraqi government wanted American troops out of there and President Obama obliged. The only "thing" he should do is tell them to pound sand.

Do you mean the same votes cast based on trusting that Dubya, Cheney, Rice, Powell and Rumsfeld not to be lying about something so important as whether Iraq had WMDs, even though it was proven later that they were?

The administration's harshest critics from across the aisle are being dishonest with the way the have been rewriting the history of the War in Iraq. Critics blame Pres. Obama for withdrawing forces from Iraq in 2011. What they are not telling you is that Pres. Obama was complying with the 2008 SOFA agreement signed by Pres. Bush, which was an agreement to withdraw U.S. combat troops from Iraq by 2011.

At the time of the withdrawal, critics howled that we should not be leaving. Unfortunately, the agreement that Bush had signed required us to do so, and the Iraqis were pretty resistant to extending our stay. Critics at the time said that the SOFA agreement didn't matter, and that we should stay anyway. These are the same critics who are rewriting history by blaming Pres. Obama for our withdrawal from Iraq, which I am glad we did. That religious civil war is not our fight.

Smith-my wife's 1st Husband was a dumb luck kid from Jasper, TX w/no connections. He ended up going to Vietnam & never came back. George W. "fought" Communism in TX. She just about puked when Lil W. strutted across that Air Craft Carrier in his cute lil jumpsuit under the "Mission Accomplished Banner".

Yeah, the war they voted for based on cherry-picked information and outright lies. I used to have a great deal of respect for Colin Powell, but after he sold his soul and went on TV to sell those lies, that's no longer the case.

True story: If the Dems had chosen Hillary Clinton as their candidate in 2008, the reds planned to run Colin Powell, then whine when the Dems REFUSED to vote for him because he sold his soul and told lies on TV.

Let them kill each other sometimes it takes tough love for people to understand that they have to stand up and fight to maintain their freedom. Your Majesty do not even use our drones or our fighter jets to drop any bombs in defense of cowardice. The Iraqi people need to grow some.

"Christie is doing great. Hillary Clinton is imploding with every passing day. I love it!!"

Oh yeah? Tell that to the SEC, which is investigating $1.8B spent by the Port Authority after Christie ordered them to find creative ways around the state laws about how to spend the money...which has raised questions as to whether the Port Authority misled investors and bondholders.
