This just shows that those that planned on attacking Iraq didn't have a clue. There is too much history that showed that invading the country no matter how bad Saddam was foolish idea. I think that Saddam was an evil man, but he held many of the people we didn't like in check because he didn't like them either (or they didn't like him).

Exactly!!!! We should have never been there in the first place!

He will do nothing, unless he is forced to.

Why should he do anything? The Iraqi government wanted American troops out of there and President Obama obliged. The only "thing" he should do is tell them to pound sand.
    --------------
The conservative talk-radio myth of the day is that Obama withdrew without coordinating with the Iraq government.
The reality is, as you say, the Iraqis asked us to leave and go on their own.
Yet another example of literally made up false narrative by the radical right.
As an aside, it is very telling that diplomacy, pursuit of peace, keeping promises, and bringing troops home alive is "nothing".

You do know Babylon and Iraq are two different places right?

Dick Cheney had a different view of invading Iraq in 1994, as evident in this discussion of the first Iraq war, a war where he was the Secretary
    of Defense.

After you take down Saddam Hussain's government, he asks, "then what are you gonna put in its place? That's a very volatile part of the world, and if you take down the central government in Iraq, you can easily end up seeing pieces of Iraq fly off... it's a quagmire ... if you try to take over Iraq... How many additional American causalities was Saddam worth? Our judgment was not very many, and I think we got it right."

Whatever terrorist attacks the US is subject to from this moment on – the blood is on Obama's hands He already has it on his hands as does Hilary – from Benghazi.

Rich old men will always send poor young men to fight their wars while protecting their sons

Romney supported the Vietnam War, but did not enlist. Instead, he got
draft deferments and worked as a missionary ["minister of religion"] for
31 months, for the Mormon church, in France, one of those "European
    countries

while the middle and working class of America sent their sons and daughters off to war during the past 13 years NOT EVEN ONE of these 5 Romney son’s (all who were of military service age) served their nation during that time frame. No, not even one!

Obama has armed enemies here and abroad to deal with.

the right wing nut jobs are at it again. Never should have been in the middle east and this does not compare with our southern boarder. The trolls see Mexicans in their sleep. What no compassion for the kids fleeing the drug wars but loads of it for the people in Iraq. ? Not happy unless our kids are fighting in some far away land. Mostly spouted by people who never enlisted to begin with

@ Chris-E...al, I seem to remember you making comments in the past about how the US should stay out of conflicts in the Middle East, yet here you are again, taking the opposing view merely because you think you can score a short-term political point. Its ironic watching the Right post in here, saying I told you so, yet when Libya and Syria came up, you were all linking arms and singing " Give Peace a Chance". What a group of hypocrites. Just admit you want generations of Americans policing the world because you love the idea of adding a lot more names in Arlington and find the whole process ennobling ( provided your kids and those of Mitt Romney never have to soil their hand with national service.).

To those ultra-lefties defending Clinton and Kerry's vote on Iraq, there were many of us who did not see just cause in launching an invasion into Iraq. Our country does NOT start wars.

Maybe Clinton and Kerry could one day tell us what secret info they were given to convince them that it was NECESSARY to invade a country, unprovoked. Until Dems (and their blind supporters) learn to admit that they can make mistakes, they can't be trusted not to repeat those mistakes.

And it may be a sign that Hillary lacks the maturity to be our President. She ranks Benghazi as a bigger mistake. Nothing but Politics.

    __________________________
Clinton got deferments to attend college- just as Dick Cheney did (although Cheney got 7 of them). As far as Mr. Bush's Texas Air Nat'l Guard experience- he learned to fly a plane in the process of being de-commissioned, and spend a year working on a Congressman's re-election committee. Just like everyone else during the Viet Nam era, right? He's still a chickenhawk like the rest of his pack of neocons.

It wasn't bad enough that the village idiot started a war of lies but now the teaklans are saying we pulled our troops too soon? Our troops should have NEVER gone into
    ––
Do you mean the same war that Hillary Clinton and John Kerry voted for?
    -–
How could I forget? Joe Biden also voted for the Iraq war.
Sorry guys, you don't get to take that one back. You voted for, you own it.
Had the Iraq war been a success those named above would have been falling all over themselves to take credit for it.
Just another example the of rats deserting the sinking ship.

Hillary and Kerry were idiots for supporting Bush's war of lies. If I remember correctly, that decision was a big part of her primary loss to Barack Obama.

Does anyone remember what those who opposed the Iraq Adventure in 2003 were called ? By Draft Dodgers no less !!

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

They called us "cowards"; "sissies"; "treasonous" and accused us of "not supporting the troops" and providing "comfort" to the "enemy" – and those are just off the top of my head!

"If you're not with us, then you're with the terrorists." You were called a terrorist.

BTW, Has everyone forgotten the fact that Pres. Bush had signed a SOFA in 2008, promising to withdraw from Iraq on the schedule that Pres. Obama followed? Has everyone forgotten that the Iraqis did not want to extend the U.S. stay? Has everyone forgotten how at the time the neo-cons, like McCain, insisted that we stay in Iraq and ignore the SOFA?

It was never proven that any had actually existed, either. Don't forget. There had been U.N. weapons inspectors on the ground for months and months, all over Iraq, before the U.S. starting bombing Baghdad. The had never found anything suggesting that WMDs existed anywhere. Oh yeah, please don't tell me Saddam had gassed the Kurds because that happened in the 1980s.
