House Republicans elect McCarthy to take Cantor's job

Washington (CNN) – House Republicans on Thursday elected Kevin McCarthy as majority leader, succeeding Eric Cantor, who is relinquishing the job after losing his primary election in an upset earlier this month.

The California Republican defeated Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador for the No. 2 position, which is responsible for the day-to-day running of the chamber and deciding which bills come to the floor for a vote.

Eric Cantor's fellow "Young Gun" who happens to be more in favor of immigration reform than Eric Cantor. We'll see how long he last. You know the right claims Californians are nothing but a bunch of lefties anyway.

At least it wasn't Labrador. That would have been more of a mess but, he's still a teatard even if from CA.
Sounds as if he worked hard as far as education but they very quickly forget how hard it is for others to do so in these tough times and as soon as they get elected and get those nice congressional offices, poof!

There is no expectation for any noteworthy changes to be made in how the House is run. Does that mean that all Republicans walk and talk alike? It sure seems like it to me. Most of the time it seems like someone passed around a script, they all memorized, and then they're repeating it verbatim in front of cameras, just in time for an evening news sound bite.

Oh yeah, it's always all about the messaging with this crowd, which is kind of spooky and weird. They're trying to influence public opinion and sway people's minds by playing on their emotions. That's nasty stuff.
