Katy Perry's offer to Hillary Clinton

(CNN) - Maybe Hillary Clinton will take Katy Perry up on her offer.

The pop superstar says she'll write Clinton's theme song if the former secretary of state does decide to run for president again.

"I told hillaryclinton that I would write her a "theme" song if she needs it," the singer best known for "I Kissed a Girl" and "Firework" said Friday on Instagram, a day after she met Clinton at a book signing for Clinton's new memoir "Hard Choices."

Clinton's response indicates she may already have a Perry song in mind.

"@katyperry Well that’s not a Hard Choice. You already did! Keep letting us hear you Roar," Clinton tweeted Sunday, referring to the singer's 2013 hit "Roar."

The lyrics in the song tell the story of a woman who used to "bite my tongue and hold my breath, scared to rock the boat."

But after being "past the breaking point," she "got up. Already brushing off the dust You hear my voice, you hear that sound. Like thunder gonna shake the ground. You held me down, but I got up. Get ready cause I've had enough.

Besides being a  Clinton fan, Perry is a major supporter of President Barack Obama.

New comments from Clinton rekindle personal wealth controversy

Republican presidential campaigns have history of just using an artist's songs and music without permission. Both Romney and McCain did it. Reagan famously did it. Both Bush campaigns did it, too.

    Um, Katy,
The song's already been written. Look up ALL OF THE MONKEYS AIN'T IN THE ZOO BY Tommy Collins.

Looking forward to Perry's song for Hillary's campaign. Her songs are light, fun, and catchy. Start composing it now...the announcement is just right around the corner.

Hillary is the perfect candidate to represent young women. Her message: "If your husband cheats on you but has power... Screw your integrity... screw your self worth... Stay for the power!!!"

Absolute lie. Reagan had Dementia his entire 2nd term and that didn't come out for many years. It was covered up by his party and the MSM.

Also Wyoming. Apparently you've been hiding under a rock. Hillary's health has been front page news from the day Karl Rove and the MSM decided it would be. And why would Katy Perry be writing prescriptions? I wasn't aware she was a doctor....

After this "singer" butchered The Beatles song "Yesterday" on televison I wouldn't ask her to write a commercial jingle.

Too bad Hillary won’t get the support of president Barack Obama who’s looking at Michelle as a candidate in 2016 given the feud between the Obamas and ‘Hildebeest’.

liked the comment...'screw yer integrity, screw yer self worth....go for the power.' Clinton is a paragon of perfection for women...says something about our society...when bill ran for president, she admonished those who perceived her as simply a 'stand by your man' type of woman..and yet...and yet....after gennifer flowers...paula jones.....monica , that's exactly what she did...as any 'self-respecting, liberated woman SHOULD do...and blame bill's indiscretions on a republican conspiracy..yeah..right...we don't need h illary...we do need a woman president and that's why a self-respecting woman should be encouraging Elizabeth Warren to run for president!

Liar. Michelle Obama will never run for office. Once her husbands term is over she will leave Politics. She has had a front row seat of the treatment of her husband, herself and even her children. She can't wait to get her girls away from this cesspool. I wish she would because I love her but she won't put her girls through this hate and bigotry anymore.

Complain all you want about past Republicans using songs w/out permission. I seem to recall Bill Clinton using a couple of Fleetwood Mac songs, not sure if he had permission either. Don't Stop is the one that comes to mind from his first election night win. Probably is familiar w/Fleetwood Mac from all of his days when he "didn't inhale". Yeah, right.

Didn't someone get upset with Mitt for using their song without permission in 2012? Did you add an X to your moniker btw?

Americans don't give a crap about a theme song right now. We want more jobs and less terrorism. We have a corrupt IRS and terrorists marching through Iraq killing people. Why are we even talking this nonsense.

I can think of many other qualified female candidates that have the qualifications over this egotystical Clinton has. Clintons are in it to bolster their financial portfolio, their egos, their already established career presence and on top of that are more hungry for power and fame. Their the Kennedy wannabes of our time. Put together the amount of destruction the Reagan Admin. The first Bush Administration, the Clinton Administration, finally the Obama Administration together and its the reason why were in the mess were in. If Hillary is elected were, as much as Katy Perry and many other younger women might to think she is represented in their best interests, clearly has not studied up on the Clinton politics of the 1970s-2000s. I remember how in my state of NY how she got to be Senator and how most of the time she was Senator of NY, she rarely went and did anything that great for Upstate NY. She was mostly out there on the talking circuit, making it look like she was doing something when really she was prepping her run for 2008 those entire 8 years she was in as a Senator. To the women out there that plan to vote for her if she runs, you think Obama is bad, you have not seen anything yet. Let vote an unknown woman who has just as much the credentials, but knows what it is like to have struggle and make ends meet. Sorry to say Katy Perry with her fame and money will never have to worry about working another day in her life and thats what the Clintons represent the corrupt liberal side of the 1 percent. I am all for a woman being president, but I just think Hillary Clinton should bow out for the good of the country and make way for new talent and younger generation with fresh ideas to take the country forward. The Clintons have had their day in the spotlight, time to make way for a younger generation and I am not talking about their daughter running either.

Hilary detractors will be the majority in 2016. Since when is being a former first lady enough for the presidency? She ran from Secretary of State when she got in trouble and her part-time senate seat was useless to the country.
