Bill Clinton, Dick Cheney escalate 'unseemly' tit-for-tat

Washington (CNN) – Dick Cheney finds it funny that Bill Clinton thinks he is "unseemly."

The former vice president was asked by a local paper on Wednesday about Clinton calling him "unseemly" for his recent attacks on President Barack Obama. Cheney stepped up the tit-for-tat by needling Clinton for some of his more famous improprieties.

"If there’s somebody who knows something about unseemly, it’s Bill Clinton," Cheney told The Billings Gazette with a laugh.

Earlier this week, Bill Clinton was asked about the fact that Dick Cheney, the vice president during the start of the Iraq war, was attacking Obama for not doing more to stop an Islamists resurgence in Iraq.

"I believe if they [the Bush administration, Cheney] hadn't gone to war in Iraq none of this would be happening," Clinton said during an interview with NBC's David Gregory. "Mr. Cheney has been incredibly adroit for the last six years or so, attacking the administration for not doing an adequate job of cleaning up the mess that he made and I think it is unseemly."

Cheney, who as vice president was a primary player in the Bush administration's invasion of Iraq, has been very vocal about his criticism of Obama's handling of the resurgence of Islamists in the country.

Earlier this month, the Cheney used a Wall Street Journal opinion editorial to write that "rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many."

Cheney went on to say that by Obama pulling out of Iraq, he "abandoned" the country "and we are watching American defeat snatched from the jaws of victory."

Democrats have seized on the comments, primarily because it was the Bush administration who negotiated the withdrawal of troops from Iraq by the end of 2011, not Obama.

"Of all the former Bush administration officials who have emerged in the last few days to blame the deteriorating situation in Iraq on Barack Obama, one might think Cheney would be among the last," wrote Paul Waldman in a CNN opinion piece titled "Dick Cheney's amazing chutzpah on Iraq."

"Cheney was the war's chief propagandist, who told the American public more spectacular falsehoods than anyone, including Bush himself."

Cheney's comment to the local paper came during an energy trade show in his home state of Wyoming, where the former vice president continued his stepped up attacks on Obama during his remarks to the audience.

"Now we’re in a situation where the administration has chosen in effect not to recognize the extent of the problem," Cheney said.

Clinton's apathy marched us into 9/11. Bill needs to shut up and sit down because most of America does not care what he says or does. Wave that thumb where they pay you, Bill. Your time has come and gone and being that YOU were impeached, YOU are the unseemly, vulgar, and common little man.

Dick Cheney never had the cojones to run for president, but he was happy to be the puppet master behind ol' W. Notice Bush Jr. isn't flapping his gums here? Cheney is a shameless, ball-less, evil git who never had the courage to sit in the big chair and take the heat but he's happy to take cheap shots at those who did.

@Laverne, you just made me think of something and I need to add it to my will.
As an organ donor I want to make sure that no part of my body, in particular my heart, goes to somebody like this piece of slime.
I don't care how much money he had to buy a heart it's obvious it didn't change him one bit. What a waste. Should have gone to somebody who really needed to continue to live.

    And in other News,
Well would you believe it. Read over on that other News network, Where the Green Grass grows, that Obama says Republicans are mad because he is doing something. Anyone remember when Obama tried to get his budget passed, and was skunked 1 to nothing. not one vote in the congress for Obama's budget. It was buried on page 900 in the New York Times the liberals were so flaggergasted.

Dick Cheney needs to explain his mistakes on the following: 1. the non-existing weapons of mass destruction 2. mission accomplished 3. shock and awe strategy to totally defeat the enemy 4. our troops will be welcomed with open arms 5. democracy will spread across the Middle East 6. overlooking sectarian conflicts and 7. peace between Israelis and Palestinians because of American pressure and power...without blaming President Obama for the mess.

What was the old saying, at least when Clinton lied nobody died. Patton was known as old blood and guts, Cheney will be known as old blood money.

Let me count the ways, losing 8-900,000 jobs a month, stock market fully recovered, setting records, bin laden dead, suspect in benghazi arrested, deficit shrinking, no more dead soldiers in Iraq (I know that one hurts), ending occupation of Afghanistan, we did not put troops in Syria, Ukraine. You must hate the fact he's not in a position to profit from war, too bad huh.

I cannot wait till this mans soul if he has one leaves this mortal coil. I would like to pay his grave site a visit and relieve my self on his head stone. He apparently heard that the new star wars movie started filming and wants to reprise his role as Lukes real Father.

    Dearest Dick Cheney ,

Could you please un-thank Ahmed Abdel Hadi Chalabi and his brother Curveball . And if you feel strong in your belief that you did the right thing by invading Iraq , at lest admit it was stupid to instal a Shiite leader in Bagdad .

See if the Ahmad Abdul Hadi Chalabi, a shrewd Iraqi Arab from a family of Shiite bankers, might by chance return a few of the BILLIONS of dollars he coned us out of ,

    Thank You Dick !

I'm still waiting for Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Feith and those other clowns to sling M-16s over their shoulders to patrol war-town Iraqi towns. While they're at it, maybe they could recruit their own family members to form their own batallion.

Once there, they could report back on all of their stupid claims, such as whether they're greeted as liberators, or whether Iraq's oil revene is paying for the war.

Dick Cheney – you are a pathetic excuse for a human being. Why don't you go back to hell, and stay there this time.

Seen h on Charlie rose, he was critical of Obama concerning Iraq, when asked about his administration, and his answer, well we could talk about that all hour, then went on his attack again.,he literally doesn't think he did anything wrong, and was adamant he would do it again, that speaks volumes, souless man, die soon please.
