2016 GOP Poll: Huckabee, Paul, Perry and Ryan stand out

(CNN) - Four potential Republican presidential candidates stand out above the rest of the possible field, according to new national poll.

A Gallup survey released Friday indicates that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin are best known and most liked by Republicans right now.

According to the poll, the four potential 2016 White House contenders are all familiar to more than 60 of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents and have net favorable ratings of at least 43-percentage points.

Huckabee, who ran for the GOP nomination in 2008 and hosts a program on the Fox News Channel, has a 48% net favorable rating. Paul, the son of former longtime Rep. Ron Paul, who ran three times for the White House, and who is well known and well respected by the libertarian and grassroots conservative wings of the party, is at 47%. Perry, the longtime Texas governor and a veteran of the 2012 Republican presidential nomination fight, is at 46%, with Paul, the House Budget Committee chairman and the GOP's vice presidential nominee in the 2012 election, has a 43% net favorable rating.

The poll indicates that two other possible Republican presidential candidates, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, are just as familiar to Republicans as Huckabee, Paul, Perry and Ryan, but they have lower net favorable scores. Bush is at plus 30%, with Christie, who's dealing with the George Washington Bridge controversy back in the Garden State, is at plus 10%.

Five other potential White House hopefuls, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, a 2012 Republican presidential candidate, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, are less familiar to Republicans.

The Gallup poll was conducted July 7-10, with 1,013 adults nationwide questioned by telephone. The survey's overall sampling error is plus or minus four percentage points.

Sorry lefties.... Obama has poisoned the well for any future Democrat candidate. Hillary Clinton? Yeah, right, part of this miserable. corrupt and failed administration. How's Obama's and Hillary's infamous Russian Reset going? No bragging about that big "accomplishment" for some reason.

The left is just so clueless as to the rude awakening coming their way this November. Our country being invaded, Obama goes to fund raisers and doesn't go to the border. Dead Americans in an airline crash thanks to his buddy Valdimir Putin and the Israelis attacking Gaza and why is Obama? Yup, you guessed it, CAMPAIGN FUND RAISING for the 434th time.

Blah, blah, blah... if he goes to the border it is a photo op and you scream shrilly like a little girl... if he doesn't you scream shrilly like a little girl. It wasn't that long ago you and your faux buddies were praising putin like he was gawd, now you scream shrilly like a little girl.
I'm pretty sure that no matter what happens, what anyone does, or doesn't do, you are going to scream shrilly like a little girl.
Your posts have about as much relavancy as rick mcdaniel's which is zero, but at least he doesn't scream shrilly like a little girl.

Do you think if the truth about Obamacare and all the lies that were told to the American people had come out prior to the election, that Obama would have been re-elected?

The republicants weren't about to let the truth get out though, were they... Now that the truth is out, no republicants are even talking about Obamacare, because with it's success and populartiy they have to move onto the next lie to try and stay out ahead of their last lie. You, being the not-so-smart type republicant, who is just angry and ignorant would not know this because you have bought into the lies yourself and actually think they are all true.
We really feel sorry for you and wish you would get some help for your anger issues and break with reality.
It is very sad to say your daily decline on here...

"As for polling, generics are meaningless. When the American people get to choose between an Obamadroid and somebody elese, they will be choosing somebody else, especially in the those red states with Democrat Senators. "

Except polling of the SPECIFIC candidates in those races show that what you're asserting is untrue.

Tony, Republican ruined economy, Democrat fixed it, then bush 2, destroyed it, Democrat fixed it, is there something you missed, you still haven't explained why w didn't fix Putin for taking Georgia. Keep drinking, you'll be fine, let the gop "fiscally responsible" policies continue to lower your standard of living. Just look at gop states, they are all doing the same thing, crashing their budget to justify robbing pensions, let me guess you have no pension, or 401k.

Corporations, billionaires and fertilized eggs are people, according to wingnut – ology. Those who are not people according to the actions of the right wing are: Veterans, seniors, women, those who have black skin, brown skin, etc., American workers, students, the poor, the sick, and those who may someday draw a pension.

    @democrat junk, empty suit? LOL
None of your candidates can compare to our twice elected President.
You want to talk about empty suit? How about empty head, aka shrub #43. We watch clips of this imbecile speaking and it's incredible that not only was he the leading candidate for the rethugs but that the SCOTUS dared to appoint him as president of the country. Black and Jews in Florida would have vs NEVER voted for Buchanan. Chads be darned!
Speaking of empty suits. How about that clueless screeching never reads a newspaper witch in 2008? The twit in 2012? Even the old man from AZ knew better than to pick him over the AZ half term money grabbing governor.
