U.S. may dispatch Kerry to Mideast

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry told CNN Sunday he may travel to the region.

"I believe the President is asking me to go over there in very short order to work on the issue of a cease-fire," he told CNN's "State of the Union."

"Israel is under siege by a terrorist organization that has seen fit to dig tunnels and come through those tunnels with handcuffs and tranquilizer drugs, prepared to try to capture Israeli citizens and take them back to hold them hostage. No country could sit by and not take steps to try to deal with people who are sending thousands of rockets your way," Kerry said.

During one phone call with President Obama, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "had to interrupt the conversation with the President of the United States to go to a shelter. People can't live that way," Kerry said.

The United States supports Egypt's initiative for a cease-fire and "will work for a fair cease-fire," he said. The United States has "shown our willingness to try to deal with the underlying issues," but Hamas "must step up and show a level of reasonableness," he said.

"No country, no human being, is comfortable with children being killed, with people being killed, but we're not comfortable with Israeli soldiers being killed either or with people being rocketed in Israel."

"Hamas uses civilians as shields," he said. "They fire from a home and draw the fire into the home."

Please don't waste anymore time or jet fuel on this. Make a few phone calls if you wish, but make them brief. Israel must do what it must do to protect its country from 7x24x365 rocket attacks from Gaza and Hamas. The Palestinians have brought this on themselves and should suffer the consequences. They VOTED FOR these Hamas terrorists and now they have become terrorists and terrorists sympathizers. So bottom line is you lay down with dogs, you get fleas. You lay down with terrorists, you get treated as a terrorist.

Frankly, I believe Israel has been more than patient and has given the Palestinians every opportunity and plenty of time to prove they wish to live in peace. They have shown over and over, that is not what they want. At this point I would fully support Israel if they decided to clear out Gaza and take the land back. Bulldoze the whole place end to end. These people simply refuse to stop their terrorism and so should not be rewarded with a base from which to conduct nonstop terrorism on a neighboring country. We would NEVER tolerate this, why should we expect anybody else to accept it as a way of life?

"How the Kremlin can get out of this is not clear after what has been done, and after what has been said on Russian television,.

Putin often lays low after big events that could require a review of long-term strategy.

How about sending our 7th Fleet to Gaza as a show of Real support to Israel. How about sending NATO troops into East Ukraine to
Secure Putin's massacre of innocent civilians, mainly Dutch-part of NATO!
Instead, we are sending Kerry-Fonda, who coddles Iran(they are arming Hamas)! Absurd!

Obama is a disaster and The Toadie Democrat elite need to pressure him to resign
Before, in 2015, Republicans impeach him.

What would you do if a tremendously more powerful and ruthless force had complete control over you and were holding your entire society hostage? Would you not use guerrilla tactics to get them to pay attention to your grievances and understand that you want to be free? Israel limits the Palestinians to crude weapons and absolutely no defense. Hey, how about installing an Iron Dome defense system for the Palestinians and trading each of their crude missiles for pin-point targeting missiles. That way, Israel can stop complaining about Hamas "targeting" civilians. They're doing no such thing. Their rockets amount to nothing more than throwing rocks over the fence at the bully. That's all Israel allows them to have, and that's all Israel allows them to do.

This is an issue the two bordering countries should solve with no interference from us only receiving support for peace. The games, violence, and what now is entertainment has been tolerated too long from the world.

This should be solved between the two bordering countries only receiving our hope for peace. America cannot enable this excepted behavior and violence. This tolerated activity has been accepted too long from the world, and now is entertainment. These countries should solve their problems and move on.

I'm sure that listening to John Kerry drone on will bring both Hamas and Israel to the a cease fire agreement.....not. Hey, I thought Kerry was on his yacht ferrying Guatemalan kids back home? John Kerry makes Hillary look a diplomatic superstar (BTW: the John Kerry Sea Shore Cookbook is out selling Hillary's "Hard Choices" 3 to 1. Just kidding....it's 4 to 1.

This goes back to long before America was a country. Its Israiels land and LEGITAMATE since 1948 by the UN. If a bully starts to harass your family at home.. You would stop it. No difference.. Just bigger scale.. I recintly talked to 3 former Egypitian residents. They all agreed that Israiel should have done this and MUCH MORE long ago to stop the constant killings by "kill squads" of palistinians that have crossed over with no intent but randomly kill children of Israiel for YEARS.. And since I personaly was there myself.. Yes. That has been happening since early 80s when I was there. Maybe this time will make a difference..

  24. Nothing new here!!

While I don't condone the current terrorism from whichever side it comes, we have to remember that the Ukraine has been a fragmented and problematic region for hundreds of year, most recently tossed back and forth between Austria Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, and Russia, to name just a few. Like it or not, when it became a part of the Soviet Union, it saw probably its first unification ever. It is actually understandable that many Ukrainians wan to remain a part of Russia. We don't always look at the total historic picture over here in the U.S. - just at what the media wants us to know.
