Perry sending National Guard troops to border

(CNN) – Texas Gov. Rick Perry will immediately send up to 1,000 National Guard troops to help secure the southern border, where tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors from Central America have crossed into the United States this year in a surge that is deemed a humanitarian crisis.

Perry also wants President Barack Obama and Congress to hire an additional 3,000 border patrol agents for the Texas border, which would eventually replace the temporary guard forces.

Maybe with his new glasses, he could read some Dr. Suess, with a little help of course, then Ted Cruz could explain it to him!

"Texas Gov. Rick Perry will send 1,000 National Guard troops to help secure the southern border,... ... ... '
    ------------------------–
Didn't I tell you last week that while Gov. Perry was whining and complaining for Pres. Obama to send the National Guard to the border that Perry could do it himself any time he wanted to? Didn't I tell you? Pres. Obama would need a vote from Congress to dispatch the Texas National Guard somewhere, which they [Republicans] weren't about to do.

Republicans like Perry just wanted to have something to complain about last week. This week, Perry has something that he can brag about. "I'm sending in the Guard myself since Obama won't do it." Perry requesting additional border agents is yet another smoke screen. Republicans were preparing a bill last week to fund additional border agents.

The comprehensive bill that's sitting on Boehner's desk wanted an additional 20,000 agents, instead of the meager 3000 that Perry is asking for. Republicans don't really want to solve the problem. They just want to drag it out for as long as possible, while only pretending to be concerned about resolving the crisis.

Here's what's going to happen. Texas puts more boots on the ground, which causes some of the human flood to shift to Arizona or New Mexico. When the other states hopefully have a border crisis of their own, Republicans are going to point fingers at Pres. Obama accusing him of not doing anything to resolve the border crisis. Yeah, they'll make that accusation, knowing full well that most Americans will forget all about the half step that was purposely taken in Texas. That's the plan. Let's hope the crisis doesn't shift to neighboring states.

We need private corporate border patrol like we have with prisons , why not give Black Hawk or Executive Outcomes the contract . They could be held unaccountable and never worry about liability .

Go Rick Perry , such a Man !

this is just the start of what obama needs to do to fix the problem he created. he needs to immediately reverse his insane executive order that granted amnesty to young illegals in this country as that is what started this invasion of our country. it has zero to do with this law passed in 2008. if that was the case we would have seen this invasion back then but instead it started when obama acted used his stupid pen to act illegally and unconstitutionally to grant amnesty.

they interviewed about 300 of these illegals and 95% of them said they were here because they thought they would be granted amnesty or a permisso. this is just another disaster created by an inexperienced community organizer dolt that thinks he can just do whatever he wants like he is an emperor.

Send the bill to Obama and the feds. They have demanded they are the only ones that are able to enforce our immigration laws and yet here Texas is with a full fledged invasion at a "secured border". If Obama and the feds refuse to do what is needed and Texas needs to act, then the feds should be paying for it. Put it in front of a judge and it is very simple, Texas wins.

Will Congress pay for another 3,000 Border Patrol Agents when the BP is the largest it has ever been? To be kind, the idiots of the House will not. As the problem is with Texas (any operative theories, there?), Perry deploying his state's National Guard makes sense. If the President does the deployment he'll be a narcissistic dictator.

Or, is that what the GOP wants?

Rick Perry is sending National guard to the boarder because he knows that the GOP will not pass a bill before they go on holidays for the month of August. Typical for Republicons lets not deal with problems of the country and have a holiday like the past 5 1/2 years. ridiculous.

Don't know if President Obama has time to take up the issue. Tomorrow he's here in Washington State to fund raise. I find that hard to believe. What with all the Stuff going on in the world and this country. I doubt if he will even make time to view Eastern Washington and the devastating forest fires conuming that area...the worst in the states history. He doesn't like to get involved in "photo opps". Who would have thought?

Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s support for a law allowing illegal immigrants in Texas to pay in-state tuition.Texas law a “magnet” for illegal border-crossers, a taxpayer subsidy for lawbreakers and evidence that Perry is not the unwavering conservative he appears to be.It is a line of attack likely to continue as Perry struggles to defend his record on immigration, an issue that has grown more emotional since he signed the Texas DREAM Act in 2001. If you say that we should not educate children who have come into our state for no other reason than they have been brought there by no fault of their own, I don’t think you have a heart,” Perry said...Some of those people boosting the Texas economy come illegally across the border. According to the Texas Association of Business, illegal immigrant labor pumps in about $17 billion a year which in turn also creates more jobs.

Why did he wait, to make sure the whole country can see how a real leader handles things, and never mind that Obama had his hands tied behind his back, look at me, shameless. They again, take a hot button issue, and completely politicise it, and of course the standard, that Obama guy wouldn't do it....sigh.... We all know, you don't want this to get better, you want it to get worse, you gonna ride this until November? Good luck. You see, this is exactly why the gop can't get the smart vote, and based on what the rwnj spew on here its painfully obvious, your Koch sponsered lie machine is indeed dredging the bottom of the gene pool.

@Rudy, is the world really that black and white to you, or do you just get your jollies by being so biased? You paint with the broadest brush i have ever seen. Anything that is less than totally pro-Democratic or that hints at being pro-Israel is condemned by you. Are you simply anti-Republican or are you an anti-Semite as well?

But the job will get done right. What you have here is the same thing as the Veterans Administration. A half arsed attempt costing way too much with bad results to do something the administration really doesn't want to do namely, stop all illegals from crossing.

    Well,
Old Gunderson always say, WHEN IN DOUBT, RUN IN CIRCLES, SCREAM AND SHOUT. I see the soothsayers are out in force today. With Forrest Gump in White House you Libs in Hog Heaven. CLUE: If this bunch isn't sent back to their own country we will have a 100,000 more come in no time flat. And in spite of them being rejected by states with Democrat Governors, your neighborhood will likely be inundated with them, getting your tax Dollars for their Welfare. Gee, I hope you have a good retirement plan. All you Libs are rich, right?
