Perry sending National Guard troops to border

(CNN) – Texas Gov. Rick Perry will immediately send up to 1,000 National Guard troops to help secure the southern border, where tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors from Central America have crossed into the United States this year in a surge that is deemed a humanitarian crisis.

Perry also wants President Barack Obama and Congress to hire an additional 3,000 border patrol agents for the Texas border, which would eventually replace the temporary guard forces.

Send the bill to Obama and the feds. They have demanded they are the only ones that are able to enforce our immigration laws and yet here Texas is with a full fledged invasion at a "secured border". If Obama and the feds refuse to do what is needed and Texas needs to act, then the feds should be paying for it. Put it in front of a judge and it is very simple, Texas wins.
    --------------------
Done. The bill has been sitting on the feds [Boehner's] desk for over a year. Republicans have been demanding "piece meal" immigration reform for years, but have yet to produce even the first piece of legislation.

    Where's the piece?

Good for him. The Commander-in-Chief is INCOMPETENT! We the people need to take control of our country and defend it. This president is handing it over to terrorists and drug cartels!

When you say we the people do you mean we the white people need to take back our country? because i did not think people like you believe that people of other color belong here.

Secured borders and deported illegals is the LAST THING the Obama administration wants! And his AG Useless Eric Holder has even sued states to ensure it will not happen and they let 75% of the illegals they catch in the USA go scot free. If Obama and the Democrats had their way, we'd have no borders, no Border Patrol and no immigration laws no matter what the costs to American citizens and this country.

    LOL!

Step 1: Pass very bipartisan Senate immigration reform bill that includes funding for more than DOUBLING the number of border patrol agents.

Step 2: Have the House GOP/Teatrolls block it from being voted on while refusing to enact or put forward ANYTHING as an alternative.

    Step 3: Watch crisis unfold.

Step 4: Yell at Obama for not providing more border patrol agents even though he has no funding to do so.

Step 5: Enjoy mindless Teatroll parroting of attacks blaming this on Obama instead of the people who are blocking said funding.

Step 6: Watch MSM do nothing to correct the record because spreading misinformation and sensationalizing nontroversy is more profitable than doing research and informing the public that one side of this particular "argument" is full of crap.

Done? What's been done? Step one was to secure the border. Obama and the Democrats claimed the border WAS secured. And as we have now seen with the latest illegal invasion, that was a total lie. Pas a bill in the Senate for total securing of the borders FIRST, and then prove it is working. What we have now is NOT SECURE and NOT WORKING. It is an Obama fallacy.

yolanda, have you directed that sort of question to the like of just saying, just asking, Gunderson, and the rest of the right wing haters, or do you simply grant them a pass? If you're going to condemn people for painting with broad strokes, at least be even-handed about it.
    ------------------------–
What she means by "broad strokes" is that the truth reaches out so far and wide that she cannot find an alternate route. Apparently, Yolanda does like the blatant hypocrisy by Gov. Perry that I pointed out above.

It seems she also takes exception to something else that I posted, which was nothing more than a recitation of something that Israel's IDF had said about two weeks ago or so, before this latest round of major fighting began. In fact, the increased rocket attacks by Hamas over the last couple of weeks almost seem to be a direct response to the provocative statement that came out of Israel.

What the Republicans have to do to get their nomination, makes them unelectable, showing the stark difference between what the people want, and what the super rich want, no autopsy necessary here. Perry is in it for Perry, no surprise there.

Kudos to Gov. Perry for sending the National Guard to the border. This the first of many steps that need to be taken to stop this madness.
    -----------------------
Gov. Perry could have sent in the Texas National Guard last week, instead of complaining about Pres. Obama not dispatching the Texas National Guard, which he cannot do without an authorization vote from Congress.

@Tone-Your making a facile argument. If millions of canadians were coming here illegally and nothing was being said then you would have a point. However, that is not the case. Do you really think that if millions of canadians were crossing the border illegally nothing would be said?

Who's destoying the tunnels along the border that can transport possible terrorists with explosives? Whether you label the current dilemna a refugee or immigrant crisis, someone needs to wipe out the underground links to criminals.

Damn it send them home, they are costing billions of dollars, they are not our children. If this country is so damn concerned, Africa has plenty of poor children fleeing poverty, lets go get them. Guarantee you African children would have been turned back at the border. Why can't these young hoodlums be turned back, what is the difference???

G-You said it all. The REAL Jesus said,"I was a stranger & you did/did not welcome me."Matthew 25.35. And them that did NOT, will meet a Fiery Fate. JC's Words, not min. And JC said his Words came directly from the Father, John 12,49.

I live in Massachusetts and we are being forced to accept thousands of these illegals into shelters. We can't afford it. My question is : why are they being flown to the northeast when Louisiana is available and just so happens to have liberal politicians who would do anything for Obama. Could it be that these politicians are already in danger of losing their seats in November and to force these illegals on their citizens would make them lose for sure? Stop the illegals at the border and send them home!

yolanda, you have done that in the past. If you want to truly be an objective and fair voice in here, then go for it, but go after the aforementioned people. Problem is, that if you try to say something that does NOT bait others in here, you will likely never get it past the censors.

@Rudy-Your point is moot. I never singled out Obama for the Texas National Guard not being depolyed sooner. It might make better sense to use your right wing attacks against a Republican instead of an Independent.

Tony D, to what end is Obama trying to achieve if he is actually intending to what you say in your paranoia-laced rant? Are you willing to militarize the entire border with Mexico, a country that had almost 500,000 of its citizens sign up with the US military during WW2? Are you at all aware of the complexity of US-Mexican relations, or is that simply something that is easier to ignore than to understand?

"Must be, are you suggesting that the border was secure under w?"

Sure, that's what they're suggesting, but you have to insert your White Fright Babel Fish in order to hear what they really mean. What they're doing is externalizing their own insecurities:

"I personally FEEL less secure about the border because a black man is in charge and has control over it."

It ALL comes back to the demographic shifts. ALL. OF. IT. They ignore all of the evidence that proves undeniably that Obama has been a downright stickler about the border because (a) they think that because he's brown and a Dem he's trying to let all the brown people come here to "take over" and (b) because LEGAL demographic shifts are outpacing white growth and power anyway.

Your post is totally stupid, smith. Your right wing streak is showing again, smith.

I never said anything about *yoiu* at all. I was criticizing Gov. Perry for being a hypocrite, while you were applauding him. You're making up stuff again, smith. I was trying to remind you that Perry had complained last week about Pres. Obama when you could have called the Texas Guard up himself all along.

Perry deserves no praise. He should be chastised for not doing this last week, instead of complaining about Obama.
