Obama lambasts Republicans for ‘hatin’ all the time’

Updated 1:31 p.m. ET, 7/30/2014

Kansas City, Missouri (CNN) – Days before Congress' summer break begins, President Barack Obama used a Wednesday morning speech here to lambast Republicans who are preparing to sue him rather than take action on some of his agenda items.

“Stop being mad all the time,” Obama chided Republicans during rowdy, campaign-style remarks. “Stop just hatin’ all the time.”

Democrats think they've struck fundraising gold with the Republican threat of a lawsuit against the White House, as well as the specter of impeachment some members of the party have raised. Since Friday, Democratic electoral committees sent more than a dozen e-mails using the issues to stir their supporters into donating money.

Top House Democrat: 'you bet we're going to run' on lawsuit and impeachment

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, tasked with electing Democrats to the House, said they'd raised more than a million dollars in online donations using the tactic.

House Speaker John Boehner announced plans earlier this summer to file suit against Obama for circumventing Congress on changes to his health care law, which some Republicans said was unconstitutional.

Obama has slammed the move as a political stunt, egging Republicans on with the quip "so sue me" during a speech in early July.

“They’re mad because I’m doing my job,” Obama said on Wednesday, calling on lawmakers to instead take action on closing tax loopholes and pass new laws he said will spur job creation.

“We can do so much more if Congress would just come on and help out a little bit,” he said. “Just come on. Come on and help out a little bit.”

Separately, some Republicans have suggested Obama could be impeached for exceeding his authority as president, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and others in the conservative wing of the GOP.

Boehner wrote off any talk of impeachment as a Democratic fundraising ploy on Tuesday.

"They're trying to rally their people to give money and to show up in this year's elections," he said.

The White House was quick to cite a list of Republicans who have floated impeaching Obama, saying Boehner's description of the idea as simply a Democratic talking point ignored the statements of some of his members.

"If that's the case, then I suspect that there may be members of the Republican conference that didn't receive the memo," Press Secretary Josh Earnest said.

During his remarks on Wednesday at a historic theater, Obama cast the Republican lawsuit as a distraction from the real work he wants Congress to be doing, including closing a legal loophole that allows big corporations to incorporate overseas to avoid paying U.S. taxes.

Obama cast such tactics as unpatriotic.

“They've always been American companies. They took advantage of all the benefits of being an American company but now their accountant has convinced them maybe they can get out of paying some taxes,” he said.

“It ain't right. Not only is it not right, it ain't right.”

While he was in Missouri Obama met with four people who'd written him letters detailing their struggles and successes in the uncertain economy. The President met the Kansas Citians over ribs and pulled pork at Arthur Bryant's restaurant, which has served the city’s signature barbecue to former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Its vinegar-based sauce is labeled "The President's Choice."

Obama hopes to highlight the issues facing the middle class by scheduling meetings with Americans who have written him. This summer he's shared meals with people in Minnesota, Colorado, Texas and elsewhere.

At Arthur Bryant's on Tuesday, Obama ordered a half slab of ribs and a Bud Light, though when he asked for cole slaw the restaurant's staff told him they had run out.

"You didn't save me some?" he joked.

He can blast, lie, twist and spin. He has failed as a leader. He told the people what they wanted to hear for votes. His main focus has been his personal image and agenda, not Americas. It is time for him to step down. He has embarrassed this once proud country enough.

With SO MANY ISSUES on his plate, it's good to see the president can put it all on hold and get away for some BBQ and sweet tea. Me? I'd be fired for pulling a stunt like that.

House Speaker John Boehner announced plans earlier this summer to file suit against Obama. Sarah Palin and others in the conservative wing of the GOP want to impeach the president .

When a half term governor and a do nothing speaker of the house have great ides , Congress avoids closing a legal loophole that allows big corporations to incorporate overseas to avoid paying U.S. taxes.

Every day the real repub agenda is being revealed. For six years theyve played fuzz ball with the American people, promissing to get jobs jobs robs, when they already knew this was the farthest thing on their agenda. Our country's infrastructure is crumbling into the dust, while countries like China are building modern monuments, going into the 21st century with a bang, the repubs only agenda is to put more money into the already over bloated rich folks pockets, because they already knows, this will not do nothing for the middle class.China and india with their cheap laborers is getting the trickle down that use to come to us in the Reagan days. This is why the repub has spent so many resources ondestroying our unions.

These Republicans need to get a clue. Obamacare is working fine, and most sane people realize this.

I thought we had a constitutional way to deal with this. I thought it was called 'pass a law' to undo his executive orders. I guess the Congress hates the Constitution and the Rule of Law. Huh? Who would have guessed it? I wonder how much money they'll waste chasing this windmill.

Is there anything that Republicans haven't done to assure us of their inability to do anything useful? Did anyone see Palin's speech in Colorado? They paid her to come there and talk to them while drunk, which she obviously was.

My fellow Democrats aren't getting much done either, but the Republicans still get the grand prize for doing nothing.

This is all about one thing, Raising money for his minions. Nothing more, nothing less!
This is what Obama does best, gather the brain washed, blind, thoughtless people and take their money. He is great at it!

Obama is in a panic about the lawsuit. The lawsuit will stand or fall on it's own merit, but Obama knows that it will examine in great detail his disregard for the laws of the constitution and the three branches of government.

Obama is afraid of the lawsuit and he should be. It exposes his disregard for the constitution and the three branches of government. It could bring a severe rebuke of Obama's policies.

Support Obama's agenda?! Like rewarding millions of illegal immigrants with work visa is really for the good of the country. Demanding $4 Billion for illegal immigrant assistance programs when none of them will show up for their court hearings is good for the country.
Meanwhile Obama pranced around the country fundraising rather than face the problem he created. He couldn't bother himself to go to the Texas border to look at the ness he made.

Note: As Obama-cult members bring up the sex trafficing/immigration bill that Bill Clinton passed and GWB renewed:
    – why wasn't there a rush on the border then?
    – why are border guards claiming captured illegal immigrants are saying that "Obama will take care of us" and "we are here for the Amnesty Obama promised us"
    – why is Obama secretly transporting the illegal immigrants throughout the country... Is he involving the US in sex trafficking?

As if the teaklans are not salivating for their long month of real NO WORK to campaign and raise funds in their gerrymandering areas. Wait. Not gerrymandered areas because some are planted for life.
The teaklans keep stepping in it and making it harder and harder to like them. The bullies don't understand that we don't like for them to tell us what to do, how to do it and with whom to do it with.

OBAMA is ONLY a fundraiser.... HE IS NOT A PRESIDENT!!
He is undoubtably the WORST excuse for a President this country has seen. He's even worse than Grover cleveland...
The GOP needs to find REAL and factual ideas and bring them to the table so we can get rid if the democratic clowns in this administration and Congress.

The Republican Party has nothing to run on, no movement, no actions, no glowing achievements other than to have stood firmly in opposing any and everything except what would have been political suicide to avoid. They have only to offer "lawsuits" and "impeachment", "against" and "blocking" as a party platform. There is no true change other than empty promises. They have failed to truly deliver on much of anything. I truly hope the President lets loose and comes out swinging. That he reminds people the president isn't the one who is supposed to be making legislation but in the face of an inactive and unresponsive congress should do whatever he can to move things forward. He has at least tried. Congress has done nothing.

"Obama hopes to highlight the issues facing the middle class by scheduling meetings with Americans who have written him..."

Big deal. Obama has already shown he is phenomenal at highlighting America's problems. He can talk about them very eloquently and definitely shows the mental capacity to understand all of the problems and let Americans know about them. Now can we get someone in office who can actually DO something about the problems? I don't care if it's Rep or Dem...just please get rid of the leaders who like to talk in front of people about all of our problems but do nothing to fix them.

“Obama has slammed the move as a political stunt”

So you think that this is a political stunt? You are not as well informed as I thought you were. The Republicans are taking this step for the American people because you don’t seem to want to listen to any of us nor do you want to follow the rules of the road i.e. CONSTITUTION. You and your buddy HARRY REID are the ones ruining this country and single handedly you are doing a very good job of it. You made America and its people the laughing stock of the world. Case in point, the Ukraine crisis with Putin, he is walking all over you and you don’t even know it. All you had to do is send equipment to Ukraine on a lend lease program like we did in Britain to thwart and enemy. They would have had years like Great Britain to pay back that loan. What do you do instead? You send the Ukraines MRE’s. What a joke. Then you got Benghazi, the IRS scandal, ACA act and now this border crisis. A border crisis in which you knew was coming and did nothing. Now you want to give these derelict individuals REFUGEE STATUS. Are you nuts??

By any means this is not a political stunt, the American people want to see this through and if you were smart you would take it as a warning sign that the “next time” you are on the table for impeachment. Americans are fed up with you and Harry Reid..

Hey President Obama, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Isreal and Ukraine are all going through hell because of your policies. You have left a huge mess for your successor to fix. Why are you spending so much time on domestic politics? I think if you showed more awareness of what is going on in the world, it would actually improve your party's chance of success in November.
