James Brady, former Reagan press secretary, gun-control advocate, dies

(CNN) – James Brady, former press secretary to Ronald Reagan who was severely wounded in a 1981 assassination attempt on the President, has died, the White House said on Monday.

He was 73.

    @Tom P-Gun control doesn`t work. The AWB was a failure, places like DC and Chicago who have strict gun laws have high gun violence, and gun violence has decreased with less gun control. The only way to really cut gun violence to small numbers would be an all out handgun ban (being that most gun violence is committed with handguns). However, that will never happend, there are just too many out there.

    Chicago used to have a handgun ban, and the NRA killed it a few years ago.
    Wash. DC used to have a similar ban and the NRA just recently killed it.
