Sen. Mary Landrieu to reimburse Senate for charter flight

(CNN) - Sen. Mary Landrieu will reimburse the Senate more than $5,700 for a charter flight she paid for with taxpayer money after CNN questioned the expense.

The Louisiana Democrat chartered a private plane last September to travel from New Orleans to Shreveport, where she attended an official event. She then traveled on to Dallas, where she attended a fundraiser.

-it does not matter, just vote her out. I don't care whether she is democrat or republican. This way we collective send lesson to these crooks. Just pick a better democrat. I mean, democrats care for poor, women, needy than republican trash. Good lucks.

Doesn't change the fact, until she got caught, she was using taxpayer money for political purposes.

Are we still waiting for Christie to re-reimburse NJ taxpayers for using the state helicopter to attend his son's soccer games?

Well tom, why don't you give us an example, cause your right, people who want the truth don't listen to extremely biased "news"?stations. And that means I don't listen to Mr. Sharpton either.

@Austin, come on, you know that the Rev. Sharpton is not biased. That's why he speaks out so forcefully on black on black crime, like in Chicago............oh, that's right, there aren't any TV cameras there. 90% of black homicides perpetrated by blacks. Where is the good reverend's indignation on that subject? But hey, he was a good FBI informant.

Why is everyone upset over a little bill, everyone approved of her being bribed by Harry Reid with the "Louisiana purchase" to vote for the ACA.

Perhaps you were being facetious? austin powers stated he doesn't watch the good reverend either, yet you used his comment nonetheless against him?

Oopsy! Caught with her hand in the cookie jar!! And right before an election, how wonderful! Kiss this one good bye too Democrats!

Let's see, Montana gone, Louisiana gone, two down four to go!!! But given the current disastrous trend of Obama and the Democrats, taking the Senate isn't a matter of if, it is a matter of by how many. It sure would be nice to have 60 seats, but thanks to the Democrats, 51 is now good enough for everything. Thanks Dirty Harry!!! And don't let the door hit you on the way out. It will be soooo nice to see him relegated to the back of the bus, along with Peloser.

    Austin,
Dude. Of course there is corruption on BOTH sides. I'm not blind to it and certainly don't cheerlead for one party over the other. They are like gangs and all they do is divide us further. Comments like yours just prove that what they're doing is working. This country is more divided than ever before.

I believe that Sharpton has done a number of shows particularly about the Chicago violence, including this year. One incident that you may remember was that of the killing of the young teenage girl, whose marching band had just a couple of days earlier played in Pres. Obama's 2013 inaugural parade. Sharpton spent most of a week broadcasting from Chicago. Remember that tragedy? Of course, you do, so stop making stuff up because it sounds good to you. You will be called out on it.

Tom, I missed my bias on that post, and its no secret Christie has problems most on the right chose to ignore. My point was you can't recite fox or MSNBC and expect to carry credibility. Just saying, yes, both sides blow.

so who and what was he blaming all the violence and killing on? surely not the people doing it, or the fact none of them had fathers in the home, or that they were in drug pushing gangs. must have been because there just wasn't enough money being spent there by the government right?

"51 is now good enough for everything.

No it's not. The only change was to stop the filibusters of POTUS's nominees because the GOP/Teatrolls were abusing it to keep judicial seats vacant and prevent the POTUS from having the cabinet members and agency heads he needed to effectively run the administration....and guess who will still be POTUS until 2016 when the Dems have a massive advantage in the Senate races that year in terms of which party is defending more seats, etc. For 51 to be "good for everything" the GOP/Teatrolls would have to go nuclear and completely destroy the filibuster, which would be seen as spiteful, hypocritical nonsense and would only make their 2016 prospects worse...both the fact that they did it and the ensuing 2 years of ridiculous behavior that would follow.

I'm sorry, but your question has no answer. It presumes that Sharpton cast blame and pointed fingers.

"Why is it when a white police officer kills a white person none of this happens? Or are you saying that never happens?"
    -----------------------------
Good question, wrong scenario. When was the last time a black police officer shot and killed an unarmed white teen? Why is it that whenever these tragedies occur, it is almost always the same scenario? It is more than chance.

Imagine if you had two had two nickels, one for the officer and one for the victim. If each time you tossed them, the officer coin always came up heads, and the victim coin always came up tails, what conclusions would you draw? I would conclude that I had two tricked nickels. I see a cop looking for victims, and victims looking highly suspicious simply because they fear becoming a victim.

@Lynda, yes, I was being facetious. Unfortunately, it went over @Rudy's head. as I can't imagine even him defending the good reverend...can you say "Tywana Brawley"? It saddens me that Sharpton cares more about stirring racial hatred than he does about addressing with any consistency the black on black violence. and @Rudy obviously watches Sharpton's show. which is about as unbiased as someone like Hannity. Fortunately, @Austin (and you) picked up on my sarcasm. There are too many posters on here who obviously believe that they have all of the answers, right @Rudy?
