
(CNN) - Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R- Alaska) has filed a motion to intervene in Republican candidate Joe Miller's lawsuit challenging the method by which the state's Division of Elections counted write-in votes in the Nov. 2 general election.
Murkowski, who has already claimed victory in the race, also asked for an expedited decision.

Washington (CNN) – Walking the hallways of the Rayburn House Office Building and through many of its offices, you saw rows and rows of boxes already packed up and even cartons of books being given away.
The more than 50 defeated House Democratic incumbents were forced last week to not only return to attend the lame-duck session of Congress but also to start packing up their offices, sorting through decades of papers, photos and mementos.

The State Canvassing Board Tuesday formally cleared the way for a recount in the razor-thin Governor's race between Democratic Farmer Labor Party candidate Mark Dayton and Republican state lawmaker Tom Emmer.

(CNN) - Incumbent Democratic Rep. Dan Maffei has conceded the race for his House seat in New York's 25th Congressional district to Republican challenger Ann Marie Buerkle.
Buerkle's win gives Republicans a net gain of 63 seats in the House. It also makes New York the state with the most GOP House pickups– six districts changed sides in the 2010 midterms. Republicans picked up five seats in Ohio and Pennsylvania respectively.

(CNN) - The country's last undecided Senate election arrived in state court Monday when Alaska Republican Joe Miller sued the state over how write-in ballots for his Republican rival, write-in candidate Sen. Lisa Murkowski have been counted.
Miller's lawsuit was originally filed in federal court, but a judge ruled Friday that it was instead a matter for the state court to decide. However, he did grant a temporary injunction halting certification of the Senate election.

(CNN) – Democratic Rep. Bob Etheridge has conceded to Republican Renee Ellmers in the race for the 2nd District seat of North Carolina after a recount of ballots showed Ellmers ahead.

(CNN) – The Republican Party won decisive control of the House in this year's midterm elections, but it appears less than half the country is aware of it.
According to a new Pew poll, only 46 percent of those surveyed correctly identified that the Republican Party won the House as a result of the November 2 elections. But it's not all bad – 75 percent did know the Republicans performed better than the Democrats, it's just that many aren't aware exactly what the party won.

(CNN) - The Republican Governors Association has formally announced its full slate of leadership positions, following elections during the RGA conference in San Diego, California.
More than 30 GOP Governors or Governors-elect have taken part in the conference, being held on Wednesday and Thursday, including a number of potential 2012 presidential candidates.

Washington (CNN) - One day after she claimed victory in the nation's last unresolved Senate race, Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska reiterated Thursday that she does not support Sarah Palin as the Republican presidential nominee in 2012.
Murkowski was defeated in this year's primary by fellow Republican Joe Miller but apparently won a long shot write-in bid for the Senate seat she currently holds, finally claiming victory more than two weeks after the Nov. 2 elections. Palin, a former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate, had backed Miller.
