(CNN) - Rep. Allen West, the at-times controversial congressman from Florida in his first term, will deliver the keynote address at the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday.

Washington (CNN) - Six members of Congress faced conservative activists in what organizers called the "first Tea Party town hall" on Tuesday.

Boynton Beach, Florida (CNN) - Freshman Republican Congressman Allen West clashed with an advocate for Muslim-American civil rights at a sometimes-rowdy town hall meeting Monday night.
The tense exchange drew boos from a standing room only, largely Republican crowd.
The confrontation came as West, an Iraq War veteran who was backed by the Tea Party in last November's election, took questions from constituents. Nezar Hamze, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Miami, stepped to the microphone and accused West of making anti-Muslim comments in the past.
Washington (CNN) - Last year's midterm elections swept some tea partiers into Congress, and some of the new lawmakers are not wasting time making their voices heard.
Before the new Congress has even convened, Rep.-elect Allen West, R-Florida, is taking aim at incoming House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.
Washington (CNN) – Wasting no time taking on his own leadership, Congressman-elect Allen West is already picking a bone with House Majority Leader-elect Eric Cantor sending the message: lawmakers should have fewer days off.
Cantor, who will be the second-most-powerful Republican in the House, sets the 2011 Congressional calendar which is then communicated to members.
Washington (CNN) – Newly-elected GOP Congressman Allen West defended his ill-fated decision to hire a controversial radio host as his chief of staff and lashed out at her critics.
"I was not hiring a talk radio host; I was hiring a very brilliant political mind, someone that has been in South Florida politics for 20 plus years. But unfortunately the liberal left showed that I guess they are threatened and intimidated by me, and so they went into the attack dog mode, which is something that they did the entire time in our campaign," West told CNN Sunday in an interview at a downtown hotel where incoming freshmen were gathering for orientation.
Washington (CNN) - Florida conservative radio talk show host Joyce Kaufman will not become the chief of staff to Congressman-elect Allen West in light of controversial comments she made on her show.
Kaufman had been a staunch supporter of West, a Republican and Tea Party favorite. He defeated incumbent Rep. Ron Klein in Florida's 22nd congressional district.
(CNN) – For the first time since 1997, two black Republicans will serve concurrent terms in the House of Representatives.

West defeated two-term incumbent Rep. Ron Klein in south Florida, while Scott fills an open seat vacated by retiring Republican Rep. Henry Brown Jr.
