Rubio keeps key speaking slot

Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Ann Romney will speak Tuesday evening at the Republican National Convention, a move designed to ensure a larger audience watches her prime time speech during the four day event that will culminate in her husband accepting the GOP nomination.

Ann Romney was originally scheduled to speak Monday - headlining the first day of the convention and creating a bookend effect with her husband. But the broadcast networks decided not to carry the first night of the convention, forcing the Romney campaign to scramble and find another night to showcase Ann Romney.

Romney on political emotions, Mormonism and a Romney White House

(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann Romney weighed in on the emotional side of politics as well as their faith in an interview published online Friday.

While admitting to the occasional display of emotion, Romney told PARADE that "I don't show it quite as clearly as John Boehner," invoking the House speaker, known for a tendency to be moved to the point of tears during powerful moments.

Romney campaign contemplating bumping Rubio for Ann Romney

Tampa, Florida (CNN) - The Mitt Romney campaign is considering a dramatic scheduling change for the GOP convention to guarantee his wife, Ann, a much larger national audience – but the shift could also cause tensions with a rising GOP star and Latinos, CNN has learned.

If Ann Romney is moved to Thursday night, she would introduce her husband and bump Sen. Marco Rubio from that role. GOP sources confirm such a move is under consideration but stress, like many other convention scheduling questions, no final decision has been made.

Ann Romney rebounded from several medical problems

Washington (CNN) – As Ann Romney begins to take center stage at next week's Republican convention, we are learning more about some of the problems she has endured and how she fought back.

The Romneys, who are protective of the details of their private family life, have spoken often about Ann's battle with multiple sclerosis which was diagnosed in 1998. After the Super Tuesday primaries, she had a recurrence which she kept secret at the time but has since discussed in an interview with CNN.

Ann Romney expected to kick off GOP convention

Washington (CNN) - Ann Romney is expected to be named the main headliner to kick off the Republican National Convention – establishing a foundation for the week long GOP effort to rally support for her husband’s presidential campaign.

The announcement is likely to come Monday as part of a bigger rollout of the convention schedule, a Republican source with knowledge of the plan tells CNN. The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, cautioned that the schedule could change, as the Romney campaign and organizers seek to put the finishing touches on the four day event.

Horserace turns (almost) literal in London

(CNN) – The political horserace turned into an actual horserace Thursday in London. Or at least a horse ballet.

Rafalca, the mare co-owned by Ann Romney, made her Olympics debut at Greenwich Park, competing in the individual Dressage Grand Prix event against a crowded field that included horses from at least seventeen other nations.

Ann Romney in Michigan for close race

(CNN) – The presumptive GOP nominee's wife, Ann Romney, will stump for her husband in the battleground state of Michigan on Friday.

Romney will attend a Victory Center opening in Royal Oak while her husband campaigns in New Hampshire prior to his trip overseas to Israel and London for the Olympics Games next week.

Polling indicates a tight race in the Great Lakes State between President Obama and Mitt Romney.

The former Massachusetts governor's wife has been increasingly visible on the trail campaigning with her husband as August's Republican National Convention draws near.
