Poll: New Yorkers not crazy about Weiner run for mayor?

(CNN) – Nearly half of New York City voters don't think Anthony Weiner should run for mayor this year, according to a new poll.

But according to the Quinnipiac University poll, Weiner, who announced his candidacy for mayor early Wednesday morning, is in second place in the battle for the city's Democratic nomination.

Disgraced ex-congressman Weiner says he's running for NYC mayor

(CNN) – It’s official.

After months of speculation, former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner announced in a YouTube video posted to his campaign website late Tuesday that he is running for mayor of New York City.

“Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down.  But I’ve also learned some tough lessons,” Weiner says in the video.  “I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life. And I hope I get a second chance to work for you.”

Weiner: Decision on mayoral run coming 'soon'

New York (CNN) – Anthony Weiner will announce soon whether he's running for New York City mayor, the former congressman said Friday.

He's already said he's eyeing a run, and has taken steps signaling he'll jump into the race, including publishing a detailed policy document about his plans for the city.

Sanford doesn't have much to say to Weiner

(CNN) - If former Rep. Anthony Weiner was hoping to get any insights from congressman-elect Mark Sanford on making a political comeback, it looks like he's out of luck.

Asked during an interview on CNN's "Starting Point" on whether the former Republican governor has any advice for Weiner as he considers making a bid for New York City mayor this year, Sanford said he's not looking to impart any wisdom.

(CNN) – Anthony Weiner, looking to re-enter politics after resigning in shame after a sexting scandal, couldn't say for sure Wednesday whether more lewd photos of him are poised to be released.

The former New York congressman said the sexting scandal was behind him.

(CNN) – Former Rep. Anthony Weiner has found his way back onto Twitter, nearly two years after accidentally posting a famous tweet that ushered his political downfall.

Weiner launched a new account, @anthonyweiner, on Monday. Sitting next to his name is the famous blue checkmark, verifying the account as official.

New York City Poll: Should Weiner run for mayor?

(CNN) - Disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner may seek political redemption by running this year for New York City mayor, but a new poll of city residents suggests many of them may not be ready to forgive him.

If he does run though, an NBC New York-Marist Poll released late Tuesday night indicates Weiner would shake up the battle for the Democratic mayoral nomination.

(CNN) – Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, who in a repentant interview last week said he was considering a run for New York mayor, released a document Sunday detailing a plan to restore the city as a place for middle class families.

Paid for by "Weiner for Mayor," established for a 2009 bid, the document closely mimics a plan released during that campaign five years ago.

(CNN) - Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, who resigned in 2011 amid scandal over a lewd photo sent via Twitter, confirmed in an interview published Wednesday that he's considering a political comeback, with a New York City mayoral bid on his radar.

The Democrat admitted he's eying this year's mayor's race in a lengthy New York Times Magazine article that detailed his life with wife Huma Abedin, a close aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and their attempts to stay out of the limelight over the past two years-until now.
