Political Circus: Ooh ‘dat (email’s) so scandalous

Washington (CNN) – The Internet is kind of like that annoying friend from college who remembers you at your sloppy drunk worst and keeps telling the stories over and over again.

Anthony Weiner’s Grimm advice

(CNN) – Staten Island Congressman Michael Grimm – who threatened to hurl a reporter off a Capitol Hill balcony earlier this week – has received some unsolicited crisis management advice from a fellow New Yorker who knows a thing or two about life in the glare of an unfriendly media spotlight.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner – aka “Carlos Danger” – offered the advice in an op-ed published Thursday in the New York Daily News.

Six congressmen behaving badly

Washington (CNN) – New York Rep. Michael Grimm’s threat to heave a reporter off a balcony in the Cannon House office building rotunda, caught on a still-hot mic Tuesday night after the State of the Union Address, has only brought more attention to an investigation into his campaign finances.

Well done, sir.

After initially defending his tirade, Grimm apologized. But the Staten Island Republican is just the latest in an increasingly long line of New York congressmen behaving badly - on and off Capitol Hill.

Here are five other impulsive New Yorkers who sealed their political fates with dumb decisions:

In Weiner's final days, more a curiosity than a candidate

New York (CNN) – Anthony Weiner was running almost an hour late for his final campaign appearance of the weekend, two days before he faces all-but-certain political doom in Tuesday's Democratic primary for New York mayor.

There was a "child care mixup" at home, an aide said. Weiner had to peel off the campaign trail and hustle back to his Park Avenue residence to pick up his 20-month-old son, Jordan. Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, has been absent from his side for weeks.
