
Washington (CNN) - Going into their first leadership meeting in over a week, Democratic leaders were split on whether to keep pushing New York Rep. Anthony Weiner to resign.
Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Steve Israel– chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee– and Rep. Chris Van Hollen all reiterated that Weiner should step down.

Washington (CNN) – A Democratic source who spoke to Anthony Weiner after Democratic leaders called on him to resign Saturday told CNN that even with that public hammer dropped on him, Weiner made clear he was still "on the fence" about whether to step down.
Democratic sources CNN has talked to since Saturday said that Weiner told Democrats pressuring him to go that he wanted to wait for his wife Huma to return from a trip with Hillary Clinton. This Democratic source told CNN that Weiner specifically said in their phone conversation that he needs to "look her in the eye" and discuss this before he makes any decision, because he has done enough to hurt her.

Washington (CNN) - House Majority Leader Eric Cantor reiterated his call for Rep. Anthony Weiner to resign and suggested it's now up to Democratic leaders to force the New York Democrat to step down from his House seat.
"I think he should resign. I think his leaders should do everything they can to bring him to that point if he's not already," Cantor said at his weekly session with reporters Monday.

(CNN) - President Barack Obama believes U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner was wrong in sending a lewd picture of himself over Twitter, then lying about it, White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday. And the continuing scandal surrounding the New York Democrat is a distraction from important national business, he said.
Carney's comments were the first by the administration since the scandal broke in late May.
FULL STORY(CNN) – The website TMZ posted new pictures of New York Rep. Anthony Weiner Sunday that they claim were taken in a Congressional gym for members of the House of Representatives. TMZ says the photos were sent to at least one woman. Weiner's office declined to comment on the images. CNN has not confirmed the location of the photographs.

(CNN) - Police in Delaware have closed an investigation into contact between Rep. Anthony Weiner and a teenager, and have not found anything to pursue, C. R. McLeod, spokesman for the New Castle County government, told CNN Sunday.
The family of the 17-year-old says the contact was online via Twitter, and the tweets "were not salacious or in any manner inappropriate." No photographs were ever sent to her, an attorney representing the family said in a statement Sunday.
(CNN) - The heads of both major political parties battled Sunday over the handling of Rep. Anthony Weiner's scandal, with the Republican Party boss accusing Democrats of inaction and the Democratic Party leader accusing Republicans of a "double standard."
In a heated debate on NBC's "Meet the Press," Republican National Committee Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus said that "for the first 10 days" of the scandal, "the only job (House Minority Leader) Nancy Pelosi was interested in saving was Anthony Weiner's." Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz fired back that Priebus was following "a double standard."

New York (CNN) - U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, who has been under fire after admitting to inappropriate communications with women online, has decided to seek treatment "to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person," his spokeswoman said Saturday.
While he is seeking treatment at an undisclosed location, he will ask for a "short leave of absence" from Congress, Risa Heller said in a statement.
