Christie challenger takes a dig at Bill Clinton

(CNN) - Barbara Buono might be the loneliest Democrat of 2013.

The New Jersey state senator is taking on Chris Christie in the New Jersey's governor's race. It's a long shot effort: Christie, one of the most famous politicians in the country, is leading Buono by 30 points in one recent poll, and he's hoping to use a landslide in November as a possible springboard for a 2016 presidential bid.

Ad hits Christie rival for tax record

(CNN) – A new television ad airing in New Jersey hits Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono, who's running for governor in the state, for her record on taxes during her time in Trenton.

The spot from the Republican Governors Association will be backed by a "large buy," a spokesman for the group said.

Christie's opponent puts up first ad

(CNN) – The Democrat hoping to oust New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie released her first television ad Wednesday.

New Jersey State Sen. Barbara Buono, already outspent by her opponent in ad money, used the spot to not only introduce herself but to take a few swipes at the Republican governor, who's up for re-election in November.
