Jindal defends Romney on investment slams

(CNN) – Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, whose name is often floated as a potential running mate for Mitt Romney, defended the presumptive GOP presidential nominee Sunday against attacks over Romney's offshore investments.

"Look, I'm happy he's a successful businessman. We've got a president today who's never run a business, never run anything including a lemonade stand before he was president of the United States," Jindal said.

Pawlenty, Jindal to stump for Romney along Obama's bus tour path

(CNN) - Former presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will go to Ohio and Pennsylvania later this week at the same time President Barack Obama travels through both states on a bus tour, a campaign official for Mitt Romney said Tuesday.

As part of a bracketing strategy, the official said both surrogates will be on Romney's campaign bus, making stops Thursday and Friday in "several of the same areas" as Obama "to make sure the Romney message gets out."

Republicans cautious on Romney's role in Obamacare

(CNN) – Republicans wouldn't say definitively on Sunday whether presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney was facing a problem with voters skeptical about his health care law in Massachusetts, which bears resemblance to President Barack Obama's measure.

Sen. Mitch McConnell, the top Republican in the U.S. Senate, said simply that Romney would "have to speak for himself" when it comes to the Massachusetts law, which members of Obama's administration have said was the model for their own legislation.

Jindal: 'I've got the job that I want'

(CNN) – Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Thursday vaguely responded to questions about him serving as vice president on the Republican presidential ticket in 2012.

"I've got the job that I want," Jindal said on CNN's "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien." "I know pundits will be speculating on who he's going to pick. At the end of the day, he'll pick the person who will do the best job as president and make that decision not based on political or other grounds."

According to a new national poll, there's no consensus among Republicans. But a CNN/ORC International survey released Wednesday does indicate there's an ideological split that could put pressure on Romney, the all but certain GOP presidential nominee, as he tries to make his decision.
