GOP governors find common ground with Obama

Washington (CNN) – After attending a noon-time speech by President Barack Obama that focused primarily on education reform, many of the nation’s most conservative governors spoke to reporters outside the White House on Monday and said they heard some things they liked in the president’s message.

“We absolutely have to have the best educational system in the entire world, so I do agree with the need for educational reform,” Louisiana’s Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal told reporters.

Perry on caucus day: 'It's game on'

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - Rick Perry again likened the Republican nomination fight to a "marathon" on Tuesday and said the race begins tonight at the Iowa caucuses.

Perry was doing some last-minute campaigning alongside his top surrogate, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines.

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has lent his voice to a blitz of South Carolina robocalls in support Rick Perry's presidential bid.

Jindal is one of the Texas governor's top surrogates and spent two days campaigning with the Republican presidential candidate in Iowa last week.

Jindal lauds Perry's tax plan

(CNN) - Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who won re-election Saturday in a landslide victory, praised Texas Gov. Rick Perry's flat-tax plan Tuesday as a measure that would free up the private sector.

"Governor Perry understands we have to shrink government, and we've got to stop punishing success," Jindal said on CNN's "The Situation Room."

Jindal easily wins 2nd term as Louisiana governor

(CNN) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal was re-elected to a second term Saturday, winning in a landslide with little opposition from nine other candidates.

Jindal, who was widely favored to win, had 66% of the vote with 98% precincts reporting, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State.

In Louisiana governor's race, Jindal likely to win second term

(CNN) - Louisiana voters take to the polls Saturday in the state's gubernatorial primary, an election Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal is widely expected to win.

The state holds a nonpartisan blanket primary, meaning both political parties run in the same contest and if a candidate wins 50% or more of the vote, then he or she wins the race.

Jindal to endorse Perry

Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is backing Rick Perry for president, a major endorsement for the Texas governor as the campaign for the Republican nomination enters the crucial fall stretch of the primary calendar, a source tells CNN.

Jindal is on his way to Florida and will be Perry's guest at Monday night's "Tea Party Republican Debate" broadcast on CNN from Tampa, the source said. Jindal is expected to formally make the announcement prior to the debate.

On Monday, Sept. 12th, CNN will broadcast the "Tea Party Republican Debate," live from Tampa, Florida at 8 p.m. ET. Follow all the issues and campaign news leading up to the debate on CNNPolitics.com and @cnnpolitics on Twitter.

Jindal files for re-election in Louisiana

(CNN) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal filed Tuesday to run for another four-year term in office.

"I am pleased and honored the people have entrusted me to be their governor these past three and a half years,” Jindal said in an e-mail to supporters. “I'm officially asking them today to elect me to a second term.”
