Roemer suspends presidential run

(CNN) – After failing to gain traction as a Republican presidential candidate and then making an unsuccessful attempt to run as a third party nominee, former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer on Thursday announced an end to his White House bid.

"Today, I am no longer a candidate for President of the United States," Roemer said in a statement.

Roemer to receive matching funds

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Buddy Roemer became the first 2012 contender eligible to receive matching funds from the Federal Election Commission, according to a statement from the FEC Friday.

Eligibility is based on candidates raising $100,000 through collections of $5,000 in 20 different states in amounts no greater than $250 from any individual. Having reached the benchmarks, the Roemer campaign is able to receive $100,000 from the United States Treasury and submit additional contributions for matching funds each month.

Roemer: 'I will not suspend my campaign'

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) – Former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer announced on Sunday he will not suspend his GOP presidential campaign. Even though his efforts have gained little traction, Roemer said he will remain in New Hampshire "every minute of every hour of every day to make my case."

Roemer slams China in front of Chinese Embassy

Washington (CNN) – Calling China a "bear" that eats American jobs with unfair trade policies as its fork, presidential candidate Buddy Roemer made his jobs speech Thursday in front of a location he called the "bear's den" - the Chinese Embassy.

The former Louisiana governor slammed American politicians and economists for encouraging businesses to move overseas, particularly China, along with their jobs and factories.

Roemer makes White House bid official

(CNN) - The crowded GOP presidential field added one more candidate Thursday.

Former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer officially declared his candidacy at the Hanover Inn at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, becoming the 11th Republican candidate to jump into the race.

Roemer to make presidential run official

(CNN) - He was one of the first Republicans to form a presidential exploratory committee back in March, but now former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer is officially throwing his hat into the ring.

The White House hopeful, soon to be the 11th GOP presidential candidate, will announce his decision Thursday in New Hampshire, where he'll be living and "campaigning the heck out of the state," according to campaign manager Carlos Sierra.

Roemer: It's a difficult road to the top

Washington (CNN)-Former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer admits that he's got a "difficult road to the top," on his journey to clinch the GOP nomination for president.

Roemer served as a "conservative" Democratic Congressman and then governor, switching parties before the end of his term in the statehouse. He has pledged to only accept donations in $100 increments. Claiming that "Washington, D.C., is a boomtown, and the rest of America is hurting," Roemer told CNN that "inaction is bought by money" on Tuesday.

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - In the first major event in Iowa featuring a series of potential candidates, five men likely to seek the GOP presidential nomination will speak Monday night at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition's Spring Kick Off.

The coalition is one of the major political interest groups in the state.

(CNN) - What's in a name, you say?

For one potential presidential candidate's website, a lot, it turns out.

Visitors to NewtExplore2012.com will see the new site launched by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich as he unofficially tests the presidential campaign waters. Visitors to ExploreNewt2012.com, however, will be redirected to buddyroemer.com, the exploratory website set up by former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer, who announced on Thursday that he has formed an official presidential exploratory committee.
