Christie blasts federal government over Sandy funding

Belmar, New Jersey (CNN) – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday again defended his administration’s response to Superstorm Sandy, saying the state was “not sitting on any” aid money.

Christie ventured to a shore community hit by the historic 2012 storm that ravaged parts of the state’s vaunted coast, but he faced little heat at the town hall event in Belmar, his 116th overall since first taking office.

Christie’s office clears him of any link to bridge lane closures, published report says

(CNN) - Attorneys hired by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s office have found no evidence linking him to “plotting or directing” traffic jams at the foot of the George Washington Bridge that are at the center of a political scandal roiling his administration, the New York Times reported.

A state legislative investigative committee and the U.S. Attorney’s office are looking into whether the tie-ups in Fort Lee were set in motion deliberately by top Christie appointees to punish that town’s Democratic mayor for not endorsing the Republican’s reelection.

Attorney goes back to 19th century in New Jersey bridge scandal argument

(CNN) – Talk about going old school.

To support an argument that the New Jersey select committee on investigation does have the ability to grant someone immunity, the attorney representing Chris Christie’s campaign manager included in dozens of pieces of supportive evidence an article from the New York Times penned in 1895.

Christie faces pushback; defends conservative credentials

South River, New Jersey (CNN) - Gov. Chris Christie ignored a loud ensemble of hecklers at a town hall Tuesday, but didn't hold back when a health care insurance advocate confronted the New Jersey Republican and accused him of not doing enough to get coverage for Garden State residents.

At his 114th town hall since becoming governor in 2009, Christie was also asked if he perceives himself as a moderate or a conservative–a poignant question that Christie will inevitably face if he decides to run for president in 2016.

(CNN) – Newly revealed emails between key figures in a political scandal roiling the administration of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie were turned over to a state court judge on Monday.
