Christie joins GOP governors in accepting Obama's Medicaid expansion

(CNN) - The expansion of Medicaid included in President Barack Obama's sweeping health care law was accepted by an eighth Republican governor Tuesday, despite the GOP's fierce opposition to the law as a whole.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, explaining he was aiming to put "people first," announced his support for the expansion of Medicaid as he outlined his budget in front of the New Jersey state legislature.

Christie not on CPAC's guest list

(CNN) - It’s considered a key speaking engagement for any Republican considering a bid for president, but one potential 2016 candidate didn’t get an invitation to this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference.

Someone close to CPAC said Monday that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wasn’t asked to attend by organizers of the event, which will take place in mid-March at a resort outside Washington. Officially, CPAC says they’re finalizing this year’s schedule.

While Christie's home state of New Jersey hasn’t been carried by the GOP in a presidential election since 1988, a new poll suggests voters there would be divided between their Republican governor and Clinton in a hypothetical presidential showdown.

Christie challenger injured in car crash

Washington (CNN) – The woman who hopes to unseat New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie suffered a cut to her face in a car crash as she left a campaign event Monday evening.

The crash involving Democratic gubernatorial candidate Barbara Buono happened in Franklin Township, New Jersey. The Jeep Wrangler she was riding in failed to yield to an oncoming Ford Escape when pulling into traffic, according to a statement from local police.

Fact or fiction: Taft got stuck in a tub?

(CNN) - With New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie poking fun at his own weight and questions about its impact on a possible presidential bid, the nation's heaviest president–William Howard Taft–and a story about the his getting stuck in White House bathtub comes up.

Christie calls out former WH physician, doc unmoved

(CNN) – Gov. Chris Christie Wednesday blasted as a "hack" a former White House physician following her assessment in a CNN interview the day before that his weight may cause him to die in office but the doctor is standing her ground.

On Wednesday, Christie called Dr. Connie Mariano and "vented," according to the doctor who served in the White House during the Clinton presidency. After the conversation with Christie, she spoke with CNN's National Political Correspondent Jim Acosta and stood by her statements and professed no regrets.

Christie: 'No one's unbeatable'

(CNN) - Chris Christie may be sitting pretty in the polls right now, but New Jersey's tough talking Republican governor isn't letting those numbers go to his head as he faces re-election this November.

"Listen, no one's unbeatable, OK. And so, the idea that somehow because you are very popular in February means you are going to be very popular in November – could be, but could not be. There will be a lot of things that will happen in between now and then that will determine that," Christie told reporters Wednesday.
