New york (CNNMoney) - Cutting foreign aid is definitely back in vogue.

"We're spending more on foreign aid than we ought to be spending," Mitt Romney said during Tuesday's CNN debate.

Palin: Gingrich won the debate

(CNN) - While candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Perry battled it out in the CNN Western Republican Presidential Debate, Sarah Palin said she thought Newt Gingrich took home the winner's belt.

"Everybody could learn from Newt Gingrich and the way - his calm, cool, collected manner," Palin said Tuesday in an interview on Fox News. "He's kind of seen it all before in this political game, if you will."

Cain vows to go on attack after Republican debate

Las Vegas (CNN) - The Republican presidential field's Mr. Nice, Herman Cain, vowed to go on the attack early Wednesday morning, after an often sharp-tempered debate among the seven rivals.

"They're getting on my last nerve," he told CNN's Carol Costello after opponents criticized his "9-9-9" tax reform plan.

Debates have had consequences this time around

Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) - In a city where fortunes are won and lost, there's a safe bet about Tuesday night's CNN Western Republican debate: It will influence the race for the GOP presidential nomination.

The debate in Las Vegas is the fifth showdown since Labor Day, and the eighth overall this cycle. And while the number of debates might normally dilute their impact, just the opposite appears to be happening – debates this cycle have had consequences, contributing critical moments to the nomination battle and influencing national polling in the Republican horse race.

Rep. Paul: Cain's ‘9-9-9’ plan is 'dangerous'

(CNN) - While Ron Paul said attacking other candidates is his "least favorite thing to do," he didn't pull any punches Tuesday when talking about fellow GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain's '9-9-9' tax proposal.

"I don't think it's a good plan," the Texas congressman said on CNN's "American Morning." "I think it's a dangerous plan."

Candidates go all-in for Las Vegas GOP debate

Las Vegas (CNN) – The stakes will be high Tuesday night for the seven candidates on the stage at a GOP presidential debate taking place alongside one of American's most famous and notorious avenues: Las Vegas Boulevard, known to millions as The Strip.

CNN and the Western Republican Leadership Conference are teaming up to put on the event at the Sands Expo and Convention Center and the Venetian Hotel and Casino, in a state that has become a poster child for the economic ills that plague the nation.
