
(CNN) - Former GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum offered no insight into his own political future in a Friday CNN interview, but did offer his thoughts as to why the Republican nominee lost to President Barack Obama on Tuesday.
"What Mitt Romney, in my opinion, didn't do was go out and vigorously defend the beliefs that he said he espoused and didn't go on the offense," Santorum said in an interview to air Friday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "And when you're playing defense, which is what I believe the campaign was doing and Republicans were doing generally throughout the course of this campaign you're not going to win.

(CNN) – A staunch Republican, and a top surrogate for Mitt Romney, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie crossed the aisle this week and praised President Barack Obama for his support and handling of the federal response
"This is much more important than any election, Piers. This is the livelihood of the people in my state," Christie said Tuesday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "When the president does things that deserve praise, I will give him praise. And when the president does things that deserve scorn, I'll give him scorn."

As their father has recently enjoyed a boost in national polls, Craig, Tagg, Josh, and Matt Romney weighed in on the idea of moving into the White House.

(CNN) - Newt Gingrich on Friday urged Mitt Romney to go after President Barack Obama in next month's debates with a gusto the former House speaker knows well.

(CNN) – Josh Romney, one of Mitt Romney's five sons, defended his father Monday against attacks over the presumptive GOP nominee's tax returns.
"He's paid his taxes," Josh Romney told CNN's Piers Morgan. "This is a gimmick by the Obama campaign to take the message off the economy and on to my dad's personal taxes."
(CNN) - Though he had publicly suggested Mitt Romney pick Sen. Marco Rubio to join the GOP ticket, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday in an interview on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" that he is "very happy with the choice of Paul Ryan" – although the pick was a "gamble."
"I think that Governor Romney has made a gamble here. He's taken a risk," Giuliani said.
Earlier in the day, Giuliani slammed Vice President Joe Biden for being "not very smart" in response to controversial comments the vice president made at a campaign stop Tuesday.
(CNN) – Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday questioned Joe Biden's "mental capacity" to lead, delivering a blistering attack against the vice president's competence one day after Biden made a controversial remark on the campaign trail.
"I mean, this guy just isn't bright. He's never been bright. He isn't bright," Giuliani, a Republican, said on CNBC. "And people think, `Well, he just talks a little too much.' Actually, he's just not very smart."

(CNN) – Actress and comedian Roseanne Barr, who's running for president as the nominee for the Peace and Freedom Party, said Thursday she's making a White House bid in order to push "socialist solutions."
"I was asked to carry the water and carry a message during this election and to make socialist solutions part of the narrative, because they're being left out and they work," she said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."

(CNN) - Former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu, known for his candor, took a jab at former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell's book, "A Nation of Wusses," and launched an attack line at President Barack Obama.
"Obama hasn't passed a budget in four years, he's a wuss," Sununu, a Republican, said Thursday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "Obama has rejected the recommendation of his own Simpson-Bowles, on a budget package, he's a wuss. He wants to lead from behind, he's a wuss."
