Romney in Piers Morgan interview: Stop attacking success

(CNN) – Following weeks of questions over Mitt Romney's personal wealth, the presumptive GOP nominee said Thursday that criticism of the nation's wealthy, including his family, would lead to economic demise.

"There are people who are trying to attack success and are trying to attack our success; that's not going to be successful," Romney said in an interview to air Thursday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "When you attack success you have less of it, and that's what we've seen in our economy over the last few years."

After Aurora, Bloomberg urges elected officials to offer solutions

(CNN) - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg continued Monday to call on the nation's political leaders to clarify their positions on gun rights, following Friday's movie theater massacre in Aurora, Colorado.

"I have a responsibility, just like you do, just like everybody does in this country, to try to address the key issues," he said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "You and I can't solve the problem, but we can demand that those elected officials who are – or want to be in charge, have a solution to the problem."

McCain again in spotlight over Romney tax returns, Bachmann

(CNN) – Sen. John McCain seems to be confirming his "maverick" nickname this week.

The Vietnam war hero, longtime Arizona senator and 2008 Republican presidential nominee made headlines in recent days both for bucking members of his own party and for staunchly defending the current GOP nominee against attacks. And Thursday, he pushed back against both parties for their reliance on big dollar donors who he says are corrupting the American political system.

Duckworth: Rep. Walsh's comments 'affect other veterans'

(CNN) – Congressional candidate and veteran Tammy Duckworth said Tuesday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" that her opponent, who has charged her military service is "all she talks about," is sending a discouraging message to other veterans.

"I don't mind if he attacks me personally, but when he says a veteran is not a true hero if they speak about their service, he is now discouraging 23 million veterans across this great nation from speaking about their service at a time when young vets coming home need to be talking about the leadership skills they developed in the military," Duckworth said of Rep. Joe Walsh.

Bachmann on VP spot: 'Not for me to make that decision'

(CNN) – Former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann did not deny Monday whether she was being vetted for the job of Mitt Romney's running mate.

"Whoever it is that he chooses to bring in as his V.P., it will be a highly competent person who could step in at a moment's notice and assume the responsibilities of the White House," the Minnesota congresswoman said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."

Walker shoots down VP talk

(CNN) – Following his survival of a Wisconsin recall effort, Republican Gov. Scott Walker on Thursday pushed back against the idea of being tapped as a potential running mate for Mitt Romney.

Political observers point out that not only is Walker a rising star in the GOP, but having his name on the ticket could further push the blue state of Wisconsin into the Republican column this November.

Another Clinton in the White House?

(CNN) – Asked if Bill Clinton could see another Clinton running for president in 2016–possibly his daughter Chelsea or wife Hillary–the former president indicated Thursday, "We will just see."

"Chelsea will be too young, I think, maybe not quite. Hillary says she's going to retire. We will just see. You know, I think she intends to come home and start doing a lot of the charitable work," Clinton said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "She has worked so hard for 20 years, you know?"
