(CNN) – The House Democratic campaign arm on Wednesday announced 13 new races have been added to their "Red to Blue" program, a part of the committee's "Drive to 25" campaign to win back control of the House of Representatives.
With the additional candidates, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is now looking at 51 races they consider up for grabs.
Washington (CNN) – Facing the threat of a lawsuit from Nevada billionaire and Republican donor Sheldon Adelson, an apology and a retraction was issued Thursday evening by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
The DCCC said in its retraction:
"In press statements issued on June 29 and July 2, 2012, the DCCC made unsubstantiated allegations that attacked Sheldon Adelson, a supporter of the opposing party. This was wrong. The statements were untrue and unfair and we retract them. The DCCC extends its sincere apology to Mr. Adelson and his family for any injury we have caused."
Washington (CNN) - Casino mogul and high dollar Republican donor Sheldon Adelson threatened to sue the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for libel over statements made that tied the magnate to a "'Prostitution Strategy ' in China."
CNN obtained a copy of the letter sent by Adelson's lawyer, Lewis R. Clayton, to DCCC press secretary Jesse Ferguson that accused the Democratic House fundraising arm of "maliciously branding Mr. Adelson as a pimp who has given 'Chinese prostitution money' to your political opponents."
(CNN) – The Democratic campaign arm for the U.S. House of Representatives released a series of new online ads Monday, attacking certain House Republicans over their opposition to the federal health care law.
The web videos come the same week the House is set to vote to repeal the law, which was passed in 2010 with Democratic support and ruled upheld by the Supreme Court last month.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said in a release they brought in the money from nearly 65,000 donations, and that the average contribution totaled $35. The DCCC said Saturday was the largest small donor fund-raising day in the group's history.

(CNN) – Rep. Steve Israel, chairman of the committee charged with getting Democrats elected to the House, is discouraging candidates up for re-election from attending the Democratic National Committee in September.
"If they want to win an election, they need to be in their districts," Israel, who heads the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said at a Reuters event in Washington on Tuesday, according to the news outlet.
(CNN) - The official committees tasked with electing Democrats to the U.S. House narrowly outraised the Republican effort, $6.68 million to $6 million, in May, numbers disclosed by the committees on Tuesday showed.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said their May haul means they have $27.5 million in the bank for the fall election, and said their total fund-raising this cycle is $96.75 million.
