Las Vegas (CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich got trumped by "The Donald" in Las Vegas when the mogul decided to throw his support behind Mitt Romney Thursday.
Both White House hopefuls are campaigning in Nevada ahead of the state's Republican caucuses on Saturday. Gingrich's two morning events – a speech at Xtreme Manufacturing and a meeting with Hispanic business leaders – were largely overshadowed by the news that Trump was endorsing Romney, his chief rival, on the Vegas strip.

(CNN) - Just two days before the Nevada caucuses Donald Trump announced his presidential endorsement for Mitt Romney. But will the real estate mogul's stamp of approval mean anything to Republicans?
According to a survey conducted January 5-8 among 1,000 adults, by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press and The Washington Post, most Republican and Republican-leaning voters say a political endorsement by Trump doesn't make any difference to them.

(CNN) - Donald Trump, who once flirted with a White House bid, is now reasserting himself in the presidential race, saying he'll make a major announcement in Las Vegas Thursday just two days before Nevada's caucuses.
Could it be an endorsement? Trump's office, as well as Newt Gingrich's campaign, responded to questions swirling over the announcement Wednesday night–and neither team shot down speculation that the reality TV star may make his pick.

(CNN) - Donald Trump continued to tease a potential presidential run by changing his voter registration Thursday from Republican to "unaffiliated" and publicly denouncing the behavior of members of his former party.
Michael Cohen, an aide to Trump, said the real estate mogul and reality television star made the switch "in order to preserve his right to run for president as an independent if he's not satisfied with who the Republicans nominate."

(CNN) - With Donald Trump out as moderator, the conservative publication Newsmax announced Friday it was postponing their Republican primary debate to an undetermined date.
In a statement, the newsmagazine's Editorial Director Steve Coz said the candidates were wary of participating with Trump asking the questions.

(CNN) – Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman repeated his claim Tuesday that poll numbers haven't been on his side because he refuses to engage in political antics.

(CNN) – Donald Trump pulled out of the debate he was scheduled to host on Dec. 27 with conservative media organization Newsmax, according to a statement from the real estate mogul.
Trump, who considered a Republican presidential bid earlier this year, said he will not moderate the event to avoid a conflict of interest stemming from a potential independent presidential bid.
