From Republican Strategist Ed Rollins
Rollins: Bill Clinton is a nightmare to us Republicans.
Obviously, Bill Clinton is a nightmare to us Republicans and he just gave a great speech at the Democratic National Convention. He laid out certainly the fall campaign, but I have to say that just because he said he was a good commander-in-chief does not make it so. Watch: Clinton: Obama is 'American Dream' Clinton also tried to compare criticisms of Obama's inexperience to what he faced in 1992. But at the time people were criticizing him when he was running, he had been a governor for 12 years. He had a very strong resume and was a nationally known Democrat. I think the bottom line is he gave great lines, but that does not give Obama the Commander-in-chief credibility. He has to prove it himself Filed under: Democratic National Convention Ed Rollins August 25, 2008

From Republican Strategist Ed Rollins For Democrats this is an emotional night; the last chance to honor a man and a family that has been the foundation for much of their lives, their beliefs, and their dreams. A family that has lived with tragedy but never lost its spirit or its sense of purpose. For every person in the hall or watching, it will be a night they will always remember. Sen. Kennedy looked strong, not feeble, and spoke as always with a passion. He truly has been a brave and courageous man who inspired others and has been the soul of his party and served for the good of his country - not my party, but my country. The country, the Senate, and his party were better for his service! Filed under: Democratic National Convention Ed Rollins Posted: August 25th, 2008 07:46 PM ET

Musician John Legend performs.
The Democrats as always have the better music groups and entertainers in their conventions than the Republicans do. Watch: John Legend sends a message Clint Eastwood singing just doesn't cut it anymore!! Filed under: Democratic National Convention Ed Rollins Posted: August 25th, 2008 07:40 PM ET

Preseason is over, Ed Rollins says.
Like most sports fans, I hate the preseason and can't wait for the regular season, when the games count. Many of us don't even watch the preseason games, because they are more or less glorified practice sessions. As hard as it may be for us political junkies to believe, that's how many American voters view the primary season. Beginning with tonight's opening of the Democratic convention, the pre-season is over; and what happens now really counts. Filed under: Democratic National Convention Ed Rollins |
