(CNN) - The chairman of the Republican Party of Florida called on U.S. Rep. Trey Radel, who pleaded guilty last week to misdemeanor cocaine possession, to step down in a statement released Monday night.
"The people of Florida’s 19th Congressional District need a Congressman who is 100 percent focused on the needs of Southwest Florida. Therefore, Congressman Radel should step down and focus his attention on rehabilitation and his family," said Chairman Lenny Curry.
(CNN) - In the crucial swing state of Florida, former Gov. Jeb Bush appears to be the top contender among a crop of potential GOP presidential candidates, while former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the overwhelming favorite for Democratic voters, according to a new poll.
The Quinnipiac University survey also indicates that if the two were to square off in an election held today, Clinton would barely edge out Bush, 47%-45%.
(CNN) – A new poll in what may end up being the marquee gubernatorial battle of 2014 indicates Democratic challenger and former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist with a single digit lead over incumbent Republican Gov. Rick Scott.
According to a Quinnipiac University survey released Thursday, 47% of Sunshine State voters say they'd vote for Crist if the 2014 election were held today, with four in 10 saying they'd vote for Scott, who was elected governor in 2010.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius paid a visit Tuesday to community health center in Florida where a group of navigators were helping local consumers sign up for health insurance through the federal exchange website - HealthCare.gov.
As she stopped to talk to one of the enrollees, the website temporarily crashed.
(CNN) - The husband of former Florida congresswoman and Secretary of State Katherine Harris was found dead Tuesday morning, apparently by his own hand, Sarasota police and the family's pastor said.
Anders Ebbesen, 68, had been ill, "but it is unknown if that is why he took his own life," Pastor William Hild, of the First Baptist Church of Sarasota, said in a statement released by Sarasota police. "The family is asking for privacy, prayers, thoughts and love from the community."FULL STORY
(CNN) – Former Republican Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is running for the office he once held. But this time he's running as a Democrat.
In formally announcing his bid Monday at a rally in his hometown of St. Petersburg, Crist highlighted a Democratic style platform that included increased spending for education and infrastructure, and an increase in investment in renewable energy programs.

Young died Friday night after 43 years in the House of Representatives. He was 82 years old.

Harry Glenn said that C.W. Bill Young was surrounded by family when he died at 6:50 p.m. at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Washington (CNN) - Rep. Bill Young of Florida, the longest-serving Republican member of the House, is "gravely ill," his family said in a statement Wednesday.
"[Young's] condition turned for the worse over night and he is gravely ill. His doctors say his prognosis is guarded," the statement read.
