Charlie Crist invokes Jeb Bush on condition of GOP

(CNN) – Charlie Crist, the Republican-turned-Democrat who is running for governor in Florida, echoed former Gov. Jeb Bush in describing what he characterizes as an extremist turn in the GOP.

"I think I'll quote Jeb Bush. He said it better than I ever could. Today's Republican Party, at least the leadership, is perceived as being anti-women, anti-minority, anti-immigrant, anti-education, anti-gay couples, anti-environment," Crist said Wednesday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Live."

(CNN) – Ex-Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, vying to reclaim his former post, has a 46%-38% lead over incumbent GOP Gov. Rick Scott in this year's governor's race, according to a Quinnipiac University survey released Thursday.

The poll shows that the Republican-turned Democrat is ahead of Scott on most issues, and a majority of registered voters don't think Scott deserves a second term.

Christie: 'I haven't enjoyed the last 11 days'

(CNN) - Chris Christie told a large group of Republican donors that he's "being tested" by a couple of controversies that have the embattled New Jersey governor fighting to regain his political momentum.

Christie's comments came Sunday night, as he met with some of the GOP's top financial backers, a meeting that could be critical for Christie as he seriously considers a run for the White House in 2016. And according to one attendee at the private get-together at the home of Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone, Christie was received warmly by the donors.

Christie skips town, leaving scandal behind and meeting potential donors in sunny Florida

(CNN) - As scandal threatens to envelop Gov. Chris Christie back in New Jersey, he's spending the weekend in Florida, helping Republican Gov. Rick Scott fundraise around the state.

It’s been more than a week since allegations that a massive traffic jam in the town of Fort Lee was the result of road closures on George Washington Bridge as political retaliation from Christie's team against the town’s mayor.

Christie's weekend is packed with stops in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. But it will be hard to say whether the scandal has dampened his star power, as all the meetings are closed-door.
