All in the family: Bush 41 disagrees with Jeb

(CNN) – A day after former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said his father, George H.W. Bush, wouldn't find a place in today's Republican Party, the former president pushed back at the idea.

"I know what he's getting at, but I don't think it would be difficult," Bush said, while answering a reporter's question on Tuesday in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Jeb Bush: Reagan wouldn't fit in today's GOP

(CNN) – One of the GOP's leading voices said Monday that former President Ronald Reagan, considered an idol among Republican politicians, would struggle to mesh with today's hyper-partisan attitude among some elected officials.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, speaking to editors at Bloomberg, also said his father, former President George H.W. Bush, would have trouble fitting in with today's Republican Party.

Three presidents gather for Bush portrait unveiling

Washington (CNN) - There were smiles, laughter and tears - but little politics - when former Presidents George W. Bush and his father, George H. W. Bush, joined current President Barack Obama at the White House for the unveiling Thursday of the younger Bush's official portrait.

An emotional ceremony in the East Room saw the new White House residents thanking their predecessors for their service to the nation and for helping them out during the move more than three years ago.

Bush asks about son's endorsement

Washington (CNN) – Former President George H.W. Bush asked Mitt Romney if his son, former President George W. Bush, had endorsed Romney, leading to an awkward moment Thursday on the campaign trail for the former Massachusetts governor.

"Has he endorsed you," President George H.W. Bush asked Romney at an event in Houston, Texas, where the elder Bush announced his formal support for Romney.

Houston (CNN) - Spouting some home-grown Texas wisdom, President George H. W. Bush urged his party to coalesce behind GOP candidate Mitt Romney with a formal endorsement Thursday.

"'It’s time when to hold ‘em and time when to fold ‘em,'" the elder Bush said, quoting Texas crooner Kenny Rogers after an interjected reminder from his wife, Barbara. "I think it’s time for people to all get behind this good man."

Bush 41 to endorse Romney

Washington (CNN) - In another sign the GOP establishment is coalescing behind Mitt Romney, former President George H.W. Bush is scheduled to formally endorse the Republican frontrunner on Thursday.

A Romney campaign spokeswoman confirmed Bush is expected to officially throw his support behind the GOP contender at an event in Houston, near the former president's home.

Pasco, Washington (CNN) – Rick Santorum continued to cast himself as a scrappy fighter against a mighty Republican "establishment" late Thursday – even lumping together former presidents and former presidential hopefuls into a losing clan of Republican moderates.

"You have an opportunity, here in Washington state, to join me …To say we want a conservative nominee for the Republican Party in the fall," Santorum told hundreds of supporters in Pasco, Washington, ahead of the state's caucuses on Saturday.

Romney meets former President George H. W. Bush

Washington (CNN) - Mitt Romney met with former President George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara Thursday at their Houston-area home. Romney aides say the get together was not about seeking an endorsement, and the two are friends.

Romney's quick trip to Texas came on the same day fellow candidate and the state's governor Rick Perry was in California. Perry became governor when Bush's son, George W. Bush, was elected president.

Presidents meet in the Oval Office

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Former President George H.W. Bush returned to his old office on Tuesday for a brief meeting with President Obama.

Bush, the 41st President of the United States is in Washington to recieve the Presidential Medal of Freedom later this afternoon in the East Room. He is one of 15 recipients to receive the nation's highest civilian honor. Maya Angelou, Warren Buffet, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Rep. John Lewis, and Yo-Yo Ma are some of the other recipients.

Former President George H. W. Bush met with President Obama Saturday at the White House.
Former President George H. W. Bush met with President Obama Saturday at the White House.

Washington (CNN) - Former President George H. W. Bush returned to the White House for a rare Saturday morning meeting with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office, but administration officials said no specific issue was on the agenda.

The former president was in town for the Alfalfa Club dinner on Saturday night and just wanted to sit down with Obama to talk, officials said. His son Jeb Bush, former governor of Florida, accompanied him for the visit.

When asked how the meeting went as they departed the White House, former President Bush called it a "good meeting."

Another son, former President George W. Bush, returned to the White House for the first time since leaving office two weeks ago for a meeting with Obama and former President Bill Clinton on relief efforts for Haiti.
