As controversy swirls, Heritage report author resigns

(CNN) - An author of a highly critical report on pending immigration legislation has resigned his post at the conservative Heritage Foundation after his previous writings, including a dissertation citing lower IQ among immigrants, drew widespread anger.

"Jason Richwine let us know he's decided to resign from his position," a spokesman for the Heritage Foundation said Friday. "He's no longer employed by Heritage. It is our long-standing policy not to discuss internal personnel matters."

Author of critical immigration report previously wrote of lower IQ in immigrants

(CNN) – A report released by the conservative Heritage Foundation that was highly critical of proposed immigration legislation is coming under new scrutiny after it was discovered its co-author previously wrote a dissertation citing lower IQs among immigrants.

The Heritage Foundation immediately distanced itself from the 2009 paper written by Jason Richwine, who is described on Heritage’s website as a quantitative analyst.

Bachmann makes top ten in list of Congress’ most conservative

Washington (CNN) – Just how conservative is tea party darling Rep. Michele Bachmann?

According to new rankings released Friday by Heritage Action, sister organization to the Heritage Foundation, a Washington right-wing think tank, the Minnesota congresswoman is the ninth most conservative congressional member.
