Cain journey part of 'God's plan'

Rock Hill, South Carolina (CNN) - Businessman Herman Cain made one campaign stop in South Carolina before returning to Atlanta to meet with his wife and family after a wave of allegations have threatened his presidential campaign.

Political activist Jamie Harrison tried to rally the audience before Cain walked out. "So what do you want him to do? Run, run, run?"

The crowd yelled, "Run, run, run!"

Cain to meet with supporters and donors before Saturday announcement

(CNN) - Herman Cain has invited top supporters and donors to meet with him Saturday in Atlanta before he announces the fate of his campaign at an event there, CNN has confirmed.

A supporter, who is attending the session, told CNN the attendees are expecting the GOP presidential candidate to tell them during the meeting whether or not he will continue with his campaign.

Cain to make campaign announcement Saturday

ATLANTA (CNN) - Speaking about challenges his campaign has faced in recent weeks, Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain said Friday he will address the future of his presidential campaign Saturday at the scheduled opening of his new Georgia campaign headquarters.

"Tomorrow in Atlanta, I will be making an announcement," he said at a town hall meeting in Rock Hill, South Carolina. "But nobody's going to get me to make that prematurely, that's all there is to that."

Cain to make campaign announcement Saturday

(CNN) - Businessman Herman Cain said Friday he would make an announcement and "clarify exactly what the next steps are" regarding the future of his campaign Saturday.

He is scheduled to host a rally to mark the opening of campaign headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, one day after meeting his wife for the first time face-to-face after allegations he carried on a 13-year extramarital affair were made public Monday.

Women for Cain' launched by campaign

(CNN) - While Herman Cain has yet to decide if he will continue his presidential campaign following an allegation he engaged in a 13-year extramarital affair, his campaign is pressing on with efforts to promote his candidacy.

Team Cain officially launched a "Women for Cain" website Friday billed as an "online national fellowship of women dedicated to helping elect Herman Cain as the next President of the United States."

Poll: Cain's Iowa drop off

(CNN) – Herman Cain was dealt a blow via new poll numbers in Iowa that indicate the Republican presidential candidate's support in single digits.

The Des Moines Register's poll, parts of which were released Friday, showed the former pizza executive with eight percent support among likely Republican caucus goers, down from the 23% he received in October.

Ginger White: ‘My heart bleeds’ for Gloria Cain

(CNN) – Ginger White said Thursday she is “deeply sorry” for any hurt that she’s caused Gloria Cain, wife of GOP candidate Herman Cain.

The woman who claims to have engaged in an extramarital affair for 13 years with Cain, who is currently seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for president, said “I am not a cold-hearted person. I am a mother of two kids and, of course, my heart bleeds for this woman.”

Cain to make decision by Monday, chides media for ‘playing detective’

(CNN) – Herman Cain will announce his decision by Monday on whether he’ll keep his spot in the GOP presidential race, acknowledging that an end to his campaign is on the table.

“That’s obviously one option,” Cain said Thursday night on Fox News. “The commitment I have made is before Monday…we’ll make a decision.”

Cain’s attorney: Presidential candidates ‘better be careful’

(CNN) – GOP presidential contender Herman Cain’s attorney, Lin Wood, had a warning for presidential candidates Thursday after the candidate revealed more details about the relationship he had with Ginger White.

“This idea that one person can go out and make an accusation that turns a friendship into an alleged sexual affair, the candidates better be careful,” Wood said during an interview on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.” “That’s a slippery slope that I don’t believe this country wants to go down.”
