(CNN) – Not wasting a minute, Democratic campaign groups in Congress are bringing Rep. Paul Ryan's budget plan–which he's set to release Tuesday–into the line of fire, attempting to make it a wedge issue in the 2014 midterm elections.
But Republicans are hitting back, attacking Democrats for their lack of a balanced budget one day before Senate Budget Chairwoman Patty Murray is expected to make public the Senate's budget plan.
(CNN) - An independent group dedicated to helping House Democrats try and win back control of the chamber is going up with television commercials targeting four Republican congressmen.
House Majority PAC says it's launching a six-figure campaign starting Monday that will run for a week on broadcast and cable television, going after Rep. Charlie Bass of New Hampshire, Rep. Sean Duffy of Wisconsin, Rep. Bill Johnson of Ohio, and Rep. Dan Lungren of California.
Programming note: GOP presidential candidates next face off at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday, October 18, in the CNN Western Republican Presidential Debate in Las Vegas, Nevada. Submit your questions for the debate here.
(CNN) – Democratic group House Majority PAC set its sights on one freshman and one veteran congressman with new ads to be released Friday in their continued effort to return control of the House of Representatives to the Democrats.
Two Republican lawmakers, freshman Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy and nine-term California Rep. Dan Lungren, are the subjects of new cable spots set to air during the August recess. The 30-second commercials were produced to “hold vulnerable House Republicans accountable” for “misguided priorities” and “votes to sell out the middle class,” according to a statement released by the political action committee.
Washington (CNN) - Three House Republicans are the targets of a new series of political ads purchased by House Majority PAC, a Democratic group focused on regaining control of the House of Representatives.
The group is going after three lawmakers: Republican Reps. Tim Griffin of Arkansas, Scott Tipton of Colorado, and Chip Cravaack of Minnesota. All three are serving their first term in Congress.
Washington (CNN) - Eight members of Congress are the targets of ads, released Monday by the Democratic House Majority PAC, that criticize their votes on the House GOP budget proposal.
The six-figure ad buy from the independent expenditure group will run through Thursday as Democrats continue to hit Republicans over tax and Medicare proposals in the budget of Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee. The House passed that budget this year.
