Newly seated Rep. Hahn gets endorsement for new campaign

(CNN) – Soon after Democratic Rep. Janice Hahn had settled in as the new congresswoman for California‚Äôs 36th District, it was slated for eradication. The district she was elected to serve was chopped up by redistricting–leaving Hahn to dust off her running shoes and launch a new congressional campaign.

Thursday she received a boost from Los Angeles Mayor Anthony Villaraigosa, who endorsed her candidacy.

Democrats try to tie GOP congressional candidate to Palin

(CNN) - Democratic congressional candidate Janice Hahn is leaving nothing on the table in her race to succeed former Rep. Jane Harman (D) in next month's special election for California's 36th district.

Although the West Los Angeles district has traditionally leaned Democratic, Hahn's campaign says it is going up Tuesday with a television ad that compares her Republican opponent, Craig Huey, to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
