(CNN) - President Barack Obama said Thursday he would have never entertained the idea of swapping Vice President Joe Biden for then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as his running mate during last year's presidential election.
"If they had asked me, I would have said there is no way that I'm not running again with Joe Biden. Because I genuinely believe that he has been one of the best vice presidents in our history," Obama said in an interview with NBC News. "He also happens to be a friend."

Washington (CNN) - A group of 15 Senate Democrats–all up for re-election in a year–met with President Barack Obama Wednesday to get an update on the beleaguered website where Americans are supposed to be able to register for exchanges created under the Affordable Care Act.
The Democrats, along with Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Sen. Michael Bennet, met with Obama and Vice President Joe Biden to discuss progress made to HealthCare.gov, a White House official said, adding that security and privacy concerns were also raised during the session.

(CNN) – Vice President Joe Biden called several winners in Tuesday's elections, including reaching out to the new mayor of a town in Iowa - a contest that had garnered national attention, an official in the Vice President's office confirmed.
The Vice President reached out to Tuesday evening to new Coralville, Iowa mayor John Lundell after Americans For Prosperity, a group linked to the Koch Brothers, weighed in against his candidacy and that of two city council members. The conservative national advocacy group got involved because of the city's debt.
(CNN) – Campaigning for Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic nominee in Virginia's gubernatorial race, Vice President Joe Biden depicted Republican nominee Ken Cuccinelli as a puppet of the tea party and framed the race as a referendum on the conservative grassroots movement, one day before voters head to the polls on Election Day.
"I'm not just here for Terry. I'm not just here because I'm a Democrat. I'm here because this race matters well beyond the state of Virginia," Biden said Monday at a campaign event in Annandale, Virginia.
(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden laughed off a question about his plans for 2016 from HLN's Christi Paul Wednesday.
The two were discussing attending this year's inaugural parade when Paul asked the Vice President if she might see him at the next inauguration in 2017.
Biden, who's considering another run for the White House, didn't say much in response but he gave Paul a big grin, and perhaps a gleam in the eye.
(CNN) – President Barack Obama tried to log onto the Obamacare website, according to Vice President Joe Biden, who added his name to those apologizing for the online snafu that has rocked the introduction of the administration's sweeping health care initiative.
"The President tried to get online and my daughter tried to get online. I did not, because it was clear that I wasn't getting online," Biden told CNN's sister network HLN on Wednesday.
The Vice President said Obama was told several weeks before the October 1 launch that the website was "ready to go."
(CNN) - Sen. John McCain praised former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden Monday, saying that Clinton would be a strong presidential candidate and that it would be a mistake to count out Biden's chances for the White House.
According to Bloomberg, McCain was speaking to reporters after a joint breakfast appearance in Chicago with Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, when the 2008 Republican presidential nominee said that "I don't think there's any doubt that Secretary Clinton would be a very strong candidate."
