Hillary Clinton steps in it again with 'truly well off' comment

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton said two weeks ago that her family was "dead broke" when they left the White House in 2001. She quickly tried to clean up the comments.

But the clean-up doesn't appear to have been committed to memory.

Biden heading to Central America to address flood of immigrant kids

Palm Springs, Calif. (CNN) — Vice President Joe Biden will visit Guatemala this week to discuss a recent rash of unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S. Southern border from three Central American nations.

Senior administration officials said Biden would meet with Guatemala’s president along with the president of El Salvador and a senior official within Honduras’ government to broach the matter of young children being sent to the United States as a way to flee unrest in those three nations.

(CNN) – Frequent fliers and potential Democratic presidential candidates - Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden have been touting their travel creds lately as 2016 speculation heats up.

Busy at the start of her book tour, Clinton made sure to note in her new memoir the number of miles she logged during her tenure as secretary of state.

Biden: 'Name one innovative product' from China

(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden blasted China on Wednesday in a speech about foreign policy, arguing the country hasn't produced anything innovative.

"China-and it's true - is graduating six to eight times as many scientists and engineers as we have. But I challenge you, name me one innovative project, one innovative change, one innovative product that has come out of China," the vice president said forcefully.

Biden: U.S. 'behind' on caring for veterans

(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden said the United States needs to "get to the bottom" of the problems rocking the Department of Veterans Affairs at a Memorial Day event Monday.

VA Secretary Eric Shinseki and the Obama administration have come under fire over reports of excessively long waits for medical care for veterans coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Biden: 'Assume every microphone is on'

(CNN) - Be wary of every microphone.

That was Vice President Joe Biden's advice Monday to a crowd at the kickoff for the Road 2 Recovery Memorial Challenge - where 200 cyclists, including injured veterans, ride 325 miles from Washington to Virginia Beach.

Girl asks Biden to prom, he sends corsage

(CNN) - A high school senior who had asked Joe Biden to her prom got quite the surprise last week when she received a corsage and a hand-written note from the vice president.

Talia Maselli of Newington, Connecticut, invited Biden last fall to be her guest.

Maselli told CNN she addressed her letter to "Mr. Vice President; Man of Many Chuckles."

Marco Rubio returns: He lost a fair amount of buzz after the bipartisan and sweeping immigration reform bill he helped usher through the Senate. But the young GOP senator from Florida apparently still sees himself as a potential presidential contender.

Rubio was candid when asked by ABC’s Jonathan Karl on Sunday’s “This Week” whether he thinks he’s ready to be president.

“I do,” he said. “I think that’s true for multiple other people that would want to run.”

Rubio maintained that he has the necessary experience for the job.

Biden delivers 'Elizabeth Warren-type speech' at fundraiser

Washington (CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden appeared at a closed-door fundraiser in South Carolina Friday and delivered what one attendee called “an Elizabeth Warren-type speech” about the struggles of America’s middle class, remarks that were well-received by a room full of influential primary state Democrats.

Biden was in the state capital of Columbia on Friday to give the commencement address at the University of South Carolina. But never one to pass up an opportunity to network with political leaders in a key presidential primary state, the vice president also reached out to the state Democratic Party ahead of his visit to help them raise money.
