Joe Miller agrees to pay legal fees

(CNN) - Joe Miller, who lost a 2010 senate bid against Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, announced he won't be appealing a court order requiring that he pay state legal fees incurred in his fight to overturn the election results.

"Given the amount at issue, it simply does not make good financial sense to move forward with the appeal," Miller said in a statement Thursday. "Pyrrhic victories are not my goal. Accordingly, this court fight ends today."

Deep pockets for Alaska's Joe Miller

(CNN)- Joe Miller has some cash burning a hole in his pocket–$825,000 dollars, that is.

Joe Miller to CNN: "I'm not going to talk about sour grapes"

(CNN)–Joe Miller is giving up, but he isn’t standing down.

He also needs Senator Lisa Murkowski’s phone number. Miller won Alaska’s Republican U.S. Senate primary, lost the general election to a write-in campaign waged by incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski, then unsuccessfully challenged the results in court. Today in Anchorage, he told supporters the time has come, " to accept the practical realities of our current legal circumstances. We shall abide by the court's decisions even if we do not agree with them."

Miller ends Alaska Senate challenge

(CNN)– Joe Miller chose the waning hours of 2010 to write the final chapter in the story of his lengthy 2010 Senate campaign, announcing that he would not continue with a legal challenge to Sen. Lisa Murkowski's November election victory.

"The time has come to accept the practical realities of our current legal circumstances. We shall abide by the court's decisions, even if we do not agree with them," Miller told supporters and reporters at an Anchorage news conference Friday.

In an interview on CNN's "John King USA" Miller explained why he had taken his fight this far. "Ultimately, what this was about was creating transparency in the Alaskan election system...making sure that the votes were counted appropriately, that ballot security was maintained, things that I think all Alaskans really now appreciate."

Conclusion to Alaska U.S. Senate race near

(CNN)– A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit challenging Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski's write-in election victory last month, clearing the way for Murkowski to be sworn in for a second term next week.

Murkowski was defeated in the Republican primary in August by Tea Party-backed candidate Joe Miller. She then waged the write-in campaign in the general election in November to defeat Miller, who filed a lawsuit challenging the result.

Miller won't contest Murkowski certification; pursues federal suit

(CNN) - Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller said late Sunday he is dropping his opposition to incumbent Lisa Murkowski being certified as winner in the Alaska Senate race, but will continue with a federal lawsuit.

"After careful consideration and seeking the counsel of people whose opinion I respect and trust, I have decided that the federal case must go forward. The integrity of the election is vital and ultimately the rule of law must be our standard," Miller said in a statement. "Nevertheless, I have also decided to withdraw our opposition to the certification of the election, ensuring that Alaska will have its full delegation seated when the 112th Congress convenes next month."
