(CNN) – As the 2012 primary season begins to take shape, political observers are beginning to wonder whether the four potential candidates who work as commentators for Fox News will forgo their large paychecks to run for the nomination.
On Monday's edition of John King, USA, Chief National Correspondent John King laid out the stakes: former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and former Pennsylvania Sen. (CNN) – Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain sounded off on issues being debated in the lame duck Congressional session during an interview with CNN Chief National Correspondent John King Thursday night.
Appearing on CNN's John King, USA Thursday night, McCain had choice words for fellow members of his party that plan to vote in favor of the spending bill that contains Republican earmarks. Calling the bill a "monstrosity and atrocity" Mccain stated, "It is a bipartisan plague, and we have Republican senators who may vote in favor of this atrocity.

(CNN)–Democratic Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown had choice words about the tax deal struck between President Barack Obama and congressional Republicans announced Monday night. He appeared on CNN's "John King, USA" following the president's press conference, which gave an overview of the deal.
Brown told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King, "In essence it borrows 700 billion dollars from China, charges it, puts it on our children and grandchildren's credit cards and gives it to the wealthiest two percent tax payers."

Washington (CNN) - Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell might not have gotten the majority he was hoping for on Election day– but he is still found the results "satisfying."
"I'm going to be the leader of a much larger army and that's a much better problem to have," McConnell, of Kentucky, said in an interview on CNN's John King, USA.

(CNN) - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer questioned the timing of recent reports that she was involved in a 1988 alcohol-related car accident, blaming opposition to her candidacy in the final days of a tight race for her first full term as governor.
"It's interesting that so much stuff rises to the top for whatever the reasons, but yeah it's the silly season, I think people are digging and trying to discredit different candidates not only here in Arizona but certainly across Arizona," Brewer told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King in an interview set to air Thursday on John King, USA at 7 p.m. EST.

(CNN)– Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski said officials have to be "more realistic" in their approach to problem solving in Washington, and that "consensus should not be a dirty word."
